At Grade Potential, we believe the most impactful learning doesn’t need to happen through a screen. It happens face-to-face. It’s not just our preference, it’s the foundation of how we work with students and families every day.We focus on in-person tutoring because we’ve seen what happens when students build real relationships with the people helping them. We match each learner with a local, vetted educator who meets with them at home or at a location that works for the family. It’s familiar, consistent, and built for sustainable progress. We know every family’s needs are different. That’s why we offer virtual sessions when needed, especially for students in rural areas, with inconsistent home time, or who simply prefer learning online. But our model is intentionally built around real-life connection and in-person support because those elements tend to lead to stronger outcomes over time.Whether the subject is elementary reading or graduate-level writing, we help families find the right tutor for their needs, their pace, and their goals. And from first outreach to final session, we handle the logistics, the communication, and the follow-through, so the focus stays where it should: on consistent, high-quality learning.

It went incredibly well. My daughter was so pleased with his approach—she said he’s a "cool tutor" and felt completely comfortable with how he explained things. He was both professional and highly engaging. We’re off to a fantastic start! We have already scheduled the next session 😊

Jill was an amazing tutor for our daughter . I would highly recommend her to help any child having issues with high school AP Human Geography.

Great tutor, simplified issues I was having in my genetics class. I was able to get homework done faster. I love it when things start to click!

Ruchi is always on time and very positive and patient with my granddaughter. Her personal style of teaching is excellent. Her explanations to solving problems and answers to questions makes it easier to learn. We appreciate her flexibility to work with our schedule and come to a new tutoring time that works for both of us. It has only been a few sessions so far but we look forward to seeing Ruchi.

My experience with Grade Potential was extremely disappointing. I initially had a great tutor for middle school math, and I was very happy with the support my daughter received at that level. Unfortunately, once she moved into high school-level math, the experience changed significantly. We were assigned not one, but two different tutors who I felt were not adequately prepared to teach the material. Both tutors relied on AI to help with my daughter’s math problems, and there were multiple instances where incorrect information and incorrect methods were taught to her. This is especially concerning when the purpose of tutoring is to provide knowledgeable instruction and build a student’s understanding and confidence. My daughter was being taught incorrect math, which ultimately made the situation more frustrating rather than helpful. The payment and refund process was also very frustrating. Grade Potential requires you to prepay for tutoring using credits rather than simply paying for each session. When we decided to stop using the service, I was told that the remaining amount would be refunded in the form of credits. The problem is that these credits are essentially useless to me because I do not intend to use the tutoring service again. Receiving credits for a service I no longer want or trust is not the same as receiving my money back. Overall, while I had a positive experience with Grade Potential for middle school math, my experience with high school math tutoring was unacceptable. Two tutors were unable to provide reliable instruction, incorrect math was taught, and the credit-based refund policy left me with credits for a service I will not be using. I would strongly encourage parents to ask detailed questions about the tutor’s qualifications and experience with the specific level of math their child needs before committing to a prepaid package. Update 9/16/2026 **Update to my previous review:** I would like to recognize Andrew, the District Manager, for stepping in and resolving the issue with Grade Potential. He did a great job addressing my concerns and ultimately refunded the money that had been charged to my account. What stood out to me was that Andrew took the time to look at the bigger picture. He recognized that I had been a long-time customer and understood that my history with the company should have been taken into consideration when resolving the situation. I appreciated his willingness to listen, take ownership of the issue, and make things right. Andrew also told me that Grade Potential plans to increase the screening process for tutors and take a closer look at their qualifications moving forward. I appreciated hearing that the company is taking the concerns seriously and looking at ways to improve the quality of the tutoring experience. While I remain disappointed with the experience that led to my original review, I do want to give Andrew credit for stepping in, listening to my concerns, resolving the financial issue, and taking steps toward addressing the larger concerns I raised. His handling of the situation made a significant difference in my overall experience with the company.
