Turned out all fine, although there was no (visible) progress initially
Placed an order on 2025-11-25 with an indicated "Shipping (7-10 Working Days - Not Insured)", but other than an email stating "We are processing your order" upon placing said order, I haven't heard anything from gpdstore.net since. I'm based in Germany and am accustomed to being notified by reputable vendors (1) when an order is being prepared to be shipped and (2a) when it is actually being handed over to the postal service together with (2b) tracking information -- is this not how you do things in the UK? Update: the above was written on 2025-12-02, when prompted by Trustpilot. Today, 2025-12-05, I'm very pleased to note that I've just been informed via email (in French, how cool is that) that "Le transporteur a prélevé le colis." Tracking information has been provided, as well. Update: Today, 2025-12-06, the parcel has been delivered. Very fast shipping from France. Thank you!
Response from GPD StoreDec 5, 2025
Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and the gap in communication you experienced between placing your order and receiving your shipping confirmation. We understand how frustrating it is to feel out of the loop, especially when expecting a package from an international vendor. We have reviewed your order details, which was placed on 2025-11-25. The shipping option you selected indicates a standard delivery time of 7-10 working days. Since this order was fulfilled from our dedicated EU inventory to ensure faster delivery to Germany, we are pleased to confirm that the email update you received on 2025-12-05, stating "Le transporteur a prélevé le colis" (The carrier has picked up the package) and providing the tracking information, means the item has officially been dispatched. Considering the processing and handover time, this dispatch date falls well within the expected timeframe for the overall transaction. We are very glad to hear that the tracking information has now reached you and you can expect delivery soon. Regarding your valuable feedback on communication—specifically, the need for proactive updates on preparation and handover—we have taken this on board. We recognize that international customers, particularly in the EU, expect and deserve more frequent status notifications than the system currently provides. We are actively working to implement improved communication triggers in our European logistics workflow to ensure comprehensive notification at the preparation, dispatch, and tracking stages. Thank you again for your patience and for highlighting this area for improvement. We hope you enjoy your purchase when it arrives!
