After a difficult search to put together the kind of trip to Uganda that I was looking for, I was delighted to finally talk to Donna at Gorilla Safari Company. Donna has first hand knowledge of the Buhoma area and understood that I wanted to stay somewhere that would benefit the local community as this was to be the tail end of a charity study tour and I wanted to continue in that spirit. She recommended a Homestay at the Ride4AWomam project in Buhoma. This was unexpectedly high end with a large en suite room and veranda overlooking views of the forest and mountains. The food and service in the lovely dining/lounge area were also excellent. So - I got to see the gorillas, knowing that that I’d also helped a very worthy cause. Thank you Gorilla Safari Company!

Kate from The Gorilla Safari Company arranged our 11 Day Uganda Tour of Sept. 2018 and while many questions popped up for us, Kate was very helpful and always got back to us in a timely manner to answer our concerns. Our tour was wonderful! The Gorilla trek was exciting as expected, but what we didn't expect was the beautiful scenery all over Uganda. There were other wonderful surprises as well. I also want to praise our tour guide Amos. He was very accommodating, fun, informative and just an all around nice guy to spend that much time with. I would give him an A plus for his skills. It was definitely a trip of a lifetime I will never forget. Thanks Kate and Amos for guiding us along the way and making it all possible.

This was our first organised vacation and we weren't quite sure what to expect. From the first phone call to being dropped at the airport for our trip home, the experience was amazing. We had wonderful traveling companions and Amos, our driver and protector, had us everyplace we needed to be at just the right time. We were privileged enough to see lions, rhinos, giraffes, water buffalo, warthogs, elephants, gorillas, and even leopards. We met beautiful people in the communities and in the schools who will never leave our hearts. On top of all this, the company organised the honeymoon suite for us to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. Everyone involved in the planning and support of this amazing trip was professional, truthful and pleasant. Thank you for giving us the trip of a life time. Having just read a previous review stating disappointment with the tour guide, we feel that we must add further comments. Our guide was also Amos and we find it incredible that anyone could state anything so negative. Throughout our tour Amos was a font of local knowledge both about the Country and it's customs as well as it's wildlife. He was thoughtful and exuded patience with all our requests. It was truly a pleasure to be around him for two weeks and he was a credit to his remarkable country as well as to Gorilla safari Company. His ability to spot interesting wildlife from great distance was almost uncanny enabling us to see sights that other tour operators were missing. Thank you Amos and Gorilla Safari Company for a truly memorable experience. We can definitely recommend Gorilla Safari for a great experience and should anyone be lucky enough to have Amos as a guide they will be absolutely privileged.

We are from California and wanted especially to see the Gorillas. Gorilla Safari Company planned our entire two week trip starting with the Gorillas in Rwanda and then going to the northern Serengeti in Tanzania. The Gorillas were totally amazing! We visited a family of 16 gorillas. We were within a few feet of them and one even, in play swiped her hand across my pants as she passed me on the path. The altitude was difficult for me because I live at sea level and am 74 so I hired two porters who walked on both sides of me, lending stability to my hiking effort. I was very glad I had them to rely on. I took videos with my cell phone and my husband took photos with his better camera. The trek to the golden monkeys was less interesting to us and nearly as difficult a trek. When we left Rwanda to go to the Serengeti, we were amazed to see such variety of wildlife living in harmony on these vast grassy plains. We saw lions, cheetahs, a leopard, elephants, zebra, wildebeest, ostrich, hippos, rhinos, giraffes, cape buffalo, gazelles, Impala, jackals, hyenas, vultures and so many amazing colorful birds. This, of course, is not a complete list but it gives you a good idea of the richness of the wildlife there. We rode in an open sided Range Rover and had an amazing guide who could spot the animals and knew all of their names. He had a book of African animals for any that he could not identify. The tented lodges were nice "while roughing it a bit" the food was great, lots of fruit, plenty of bottled water, vegan as well as meat choices. They had flush toilets and private showers. We never had a mosquito problem. My favorite Lodge was the Acacia Farm Lodge near the Ngorongoro Crater. It felt like luxury that was beyond our means. We flew in some little planes that held 12 passengers and we were the only ones on one of these flights. There were always people to meet us and take us to our lodges. The people were all so friendly. We felt extremely well cared for and had a wonderful time.
