Tipping staff/porters/guides is standard practice throughout Africa and we always provide our clients with a comprehensive tipping guidance document to assist with this: tipping, however, is always at the discretion of the client and is not compulsory. The permit price for Rwanda has been set by the park authorities at $1,500 per person since May 2017 and it is set at $600 per person in Uganda; this price is never changed or inflated by ourselves. With regards to the price for the trip as a whole, this was reflective of the level of accommodation requested (5 star), however, due to the rates that we receive it is a more favourable rate than booking direct.
