I don’t usually write negative reviews…
but I’m very frustrated by how Goready was unwilling to cover my trip disruption due to getting COVID. This was the one of the primary reasons I purchased the plan. Goready would not accept doctor’s notes or proctored COVID tests from my primary care provider in the US, claiming that telehealth results would not be accepted. They required a doctor’s note from a doctor in the foreign country I was in attesting that I was unable to travel due to quarantine guidance. Despite testing positive again on a proctored test, the doctor cleared me to travel during my most infectious period on day three of quarantine. CDC guidelines advise isolating for a minimum of five days following symptom onset and avoiding travel following a positive test result. So I had to choose between traveling while infectious and being out several hundred dollars. I chose to bite the ~$300 loss instead of exposing my fellow passengers. This policy incentivizes irresponsible behavior and I would not recommend it to anyone. EDIT 2/17/25 in reply to response (couldn't figure out how to reply in a separate comment). Yes, GoReady did reach out after I posted my review. However, I was told that the positive in-person COVID test that a Peruvian doctor administered was not sufficient evidence for a refund. I paid $100 USD for this in-person test in the hopes I could get my travel disruptions covered. I stand by my original review.

Thank you for your feedback, we’re sorry to hear you think our policy “incentivizes irresponsible behavior”. You were advised multiple times when you contacted our office of the requirements for filing a claim of Trip Interruption due to illness. Covid self-administered home tests without medical proctor are not sufficient. We are able to accept medically proctored tests if done legitimately by a telemedicine company and has all the required data – name, date, results, etc. However, more and more travel insurance partners have moved to “in-person” tests completed now that physician offices are open and have been for quite some time. We did reach out to you after your review to discuss this further. You did not respond to either our email or voicemail.
