Good Dog led me to a terrific breeder…
Good Dog led me to a terrific breeder who has been a great pleasure to work with. Early on my application got misplaced. Good Dog followed up with me and with the breeder very quickly and got things back on track. I just visited the breeder to pick my pup last weekend and will be bringing him home soon.
Good Dog helped, more generally, to narrow the field. There are so many kinds of dogs and different breeders in different places.Once I found Good Dog I was able to move ahead in making decisions about the breed, the breeder herself, and location of the breeder.

Losing ground
A bit over two years I was excited for the opportunity to be a part of Good dog, and proud to go through the vetting process in order to have my breeding listed. Over the past year I have watched anxiously as several of the leadership that were admired within the industry left, and watched doodles begin to take over, and saw Good Dog embrace mixed breeding programs for financial gain. And now, Breeders no longer need to be fully vetted. Random checks of health testing instead of vetting each program in its entirety, no acknowledgement that a square dog and a rectangular dog bred together are likely to provide joint problems regardless of what the parents ofa scores are, and in fact allowing these test promoting mixed breeding and giving buyers a false sense that there will be no problems.
When I tried to speak to my representative about these concerns, my account was turned off! It did get turned back on, but really, this is becoming a haven for back yard Breeders faking it as good Breeders. You’ve lost credibility with good Breeders and are now losing credibility with the general public.
I have more than one star with the hope they might improve and also because their payment platform is a good option.

Good Dog is a place for all dogs and programs that meet our Community Standards, including breed-specific health testing requirements, because we support the fundamental right to breed dogs. Every member of our breeder community, no matter their breed, must pass our screening process and meet or exceed our community standards before joining Good Dog. We take a holistic approach to evaluating a breeder’s whole program. Our team comprehensively considers many aspects of a breeding program, focusing on five key areas: breeding practices, physical health of the breeding dog and puppies, mental health of the breeding dog and puppies, environment, and buyer education and policies.
We are also excited to share that we recently introduced a Health Toggle feature to our website, which allows our breeders to share their dogs’ health test files and links directly on their profile as a way to educate the public, improve canine health and well-being, and provide transparency to puppy buyers.

Great program the message system is a pain to check daily. It would be better if it were linked or sent directly to your regular email rather than having to check different places daily . Or even able to turn it off so they can choose another way to contact you
