Good Dog is an outstanding site. They screen the breeders and have only responsible breeders on their site. There are no scammers, just good trustworthy people! It’s a site where you can learn about the breeders and their dogs while searching for the perfect puppy! Another great feature is that you can securely pay for your pup through Good Dog! The staff is very friendly and always helpful with a quick response!
It’s the only site I 100% trust!

Early training is key
Erin and family were a joy to work with. They made the process simple even though we were many states apart. Erin answered my questions quickly and provided updates with pictures and videos along the way. My two pups were very well adjusted and very healthy. Mr. Stache and Billy love people and are not nippers. They only bark to alert me that something is up or when playing with each other. Training from day one on handling and exposures to sounds ect make it so much easier to follow up on their training.

Walt’s Shih Tzu’s is a great breeder
Walt’s Shih Tzu’s was very informative, reasonably priced, great communication, and easy to work with. He gives you a starter kit to prepare you for your new puppy. Willow (my puppy) is a ball of fire that has a great personality and completed our family perfectly. I would highly recommend him as a breeder.

Love our breeder and dogs!
We got one puppy from Kiya and a year later another one. She is an amazing breeder, caring for each puppy knowing their traits and temperaments, trains them and loves them. We cannot thank her enough for our family dogs (now 2 and 3 years old).

From the Heart Retrievers & Doxies
My family and I was so happy to find Shannon From your Heart Retrievers and Doxies! She was amazing to work with and made getting our Millie a wonderful experience for us. She sent photo updates each week and videos. This was the first time we had purchased a puppy and couldn’t have been more happy with how it went. Our Millie girl is now 6 months old and is just so smart and loving. We will be forever grateful for From the Heart Retrievers & Doxies!!! Will definitely look forward to working with Shannon and her family again in the future!

Claims to support responsible breeding, but doesn’t.
Since good dog changed their rules to mark breeders who sell through their platform as most preferred breeders instead of ranking people by breed standard and health testing, its all backyard breeders allllll the way down the list.
The real good breeders are on last pages because they are not ranking since they are not pumping out puppies for sale like a puppy mill.
These are people who are breeding off-standard not health tested dogs. What an absolute shame, how can they say the value responsible breeders and then rank up people based on how many puppies they produce and sell instead of what actually matters?
Anyone on that website can say they health test, good dog doesn’t actually check or care. So unless they provided documentation on their breeding stocks profile then those claims mean absolutely nothing.
It makes me extremely upset that respected breeders are being pushed to the end of the list because they are not hitting good dog’s quota of selling multiple puppies every 6 months on the platform - and instead i am seeing some of the most ill intentions, money hungry, lying and shady backyard breeders topping lists.
If ethical breeding and preservation really mattered to them they would not allow such shady and horrible people to sell yet alone list people based on how much they produce and sell on the platform.
Edit: responding to your response- that is a huge crock of sh!t. Several people in my breed you are recommending DO NOT health test and DO NOT provide any information on their page. Their dogs are from puppy mills and horrible bred from non health tested parents. These are people who have complaints in our communities for lying to customers. Do better.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback with us. We’re happy to share more information about the Preferred Breeder Program that might be helpful. The Good Dog Preferred Breeder program recognizes and rewards Good Breeders for choosing to place their pups on Good Dog, and their dedication to supporting Good Dog buyers.
In addition to maintaining a 48 hour response time to messages and accepting at least one final puppy payment through Good Dog in the past 6 months, Preferred Breeders must also maintain compliance with Good Dog's policies, including our health testing requirements, Community Standards, and On-Platform Payment Policy in order to qualify for Preferred Breeder status.
We’re also excited to let you know that you can already receive Breeding Dog Badges to differentiate your program and receive recognition for the health testing performed on your breeding dogs, by sharing your dogs’ health test files and links directly on your profile. Read more here: https://www.gooddog.com/good-breeder-center/breeding-dog-badges
We hope this is helpful information, but if you have any questions about how to receive health testing badges for your sires and dams, or questions about qualifying for our Preferred Breeder Program, please reach out to us at [email protected].
Warmly,
The Good Dog Team

Would rate ZERO
Would rate ZERO. Breeder accepted $500 down payment for puppy then refused to allow me to pick up the puppy. Good Dog refused to refund money or insist seller finish transaction. I did not get the puppy or my money back. Scam. Do not use this company nor AK Forty Seven Farms in Aberdeen North Carolina.

Hi Cara,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re glad that our team was able to work with you over the past few weeks, and reach out to the breeder on your behalf to reach a resolution.
As our team shared with you, this breeder does have a deposit policy that is non-refundable, which was shared with you when you started working with your breeder. Each breeder sets their own individual deposit policies with buyers, especially around whether a deposit is refundable or non-refundable. We encourage puppy buyers to choose a breeder whose policies align with what they feel most comfortable with, because we do honor the policies that a breeder and buyer agree to.
We hope this helps answer your questions related to the non-refundable deposit you completed. Please feel free to reach out to us if there is anything we can do to help or if you have any questions or concerns.
