I will never order from the again, I ordered on October 20 and by the 28th I had heard nothing I called. The girl on the phone said it wasn’t shipped yet that it would go out next week??? Are you kidding me? It was for my older sisters birthday who lives in Virginia and this company is located somewhere in Virginia, for a 10.95 shippping fee I would think it would be express delivery! Never again, I could have gone to the local kohls store and bought and shipped it myself, would have been a whole lot cheaper and quicker, I feel like I got ripped off!

Unacceptable delay in shipping
I ordered Godiva chocolates, via Amazon, for a relative's birthday. They were supposed to be delivered 22 Oct, but I received an email saying there was a delay. It's now been a week & I have had no update. The birthday is past.
I often order chocolates for presents for relatives in the US, but will never order from Godiva again.

notified me a week after placing order it would be 2 weeks late
First time customer ordering gift baskets from Godiva for a business event. They waited an entire week to tell me my order would be 2 weeks late.. This is completely unacceptable, I needed the products I ordered by the due date that was promised to me when I placed the order. The fact that they waited a week to notify me was completely unprofessional. Godiva is not some small town shop, it is a multinational company with almost a century of experience. Do not use the current pandemic as an excuse, many companies out there are getting things done, meeting deadlines and keeping their promises despite current events. This is unacceptable, you lost my company's future business. I went with lindt instead.

Unhappy ex customer
I placed an order late Monday night early Tuesday morning with Godiva that was cancelled due to an error on their part. I called and they want me to just re-order the items as if nothing happened. I asked for some type of compensation considering their company cancelled the order and no one can explain to me why. The item was not out of stock, my card had the funds & I've ordered from them numerous times before. They are saying it was a address issue but like I stated I’ve ordered before & never had a problem receiving my order. The manager finally emailed me back today saying they aren’t going to do anything for the inconvenience considering I found out the order was cancelled the same day. I feel that’s a load of crap & will never shop with Godiva again. I love their products & we all know it’s not cheap but when your company makes a mistake you should be trying to make that customer happy by sending a coupon, free item or something to compensate for your mistake. Godiva has lost 1 loyal, faithful customer. 😡😡😡

Buyer beware - Do not purchase Godiva gift cards
I received a Godiva Gift card for Christmas that was purchased at a local grocery store. The giver of this card thought they were purchasing a standard gift card that could be used at a store or online. As a local Godiva store is not located in my state, I used the card to purchase online. My gift card number would not work. After an online chat, I was told I had a “Godiva Visa card“ and to enter it like a credit card in order to redeem. Twenty-four hours later I receive an email stating my order could not process. I phoned Godiva only to be told this card CANNOT BE USED ONLINE. This card can ONLY be used at local Godiva boutique stores. As the closest store is 4 hours from my home (no it cannot be used in other stores that sell Godiva chocolates) I have no way to redeem this card. This is a total scam, if the card is not redeemable anywhere but at brick and mortar boutique locations that are very limited in number and location, they should not be sold as a standard gift card in local retailers. Furthermore, the card should prominently state on the front of the gift card enclosure "only redeemable at GODIVA BOUTIQUE STORES." It only makes sense a company gift card should be redeemable both in person and online directly from the stated company. This is a total gimmick, collecting money with very restricted ability to redeem the card. When a complaint was made to Godiva with Kathy the "supervisor of the complaint department." I requested my complaint to be sent up to the top that this is false and misleading to customers who purchase this gift card believing they are purchasing a gift card that can be easily redeemed with the Godiva retailer either in person or online. Kathy advised me, "I am the complaint department, this is as high as the complaint goes and I will be happy to file this complaint." I advised her I would be submitting this as a poor company review online.
I have always loved Godiva chocolate and purchase them for myself as well as for gifts, I will no longer support this company with my money.
Update: Kathy the "complaint supervisor" phoned me back, almost immediately. She made an offer that "I send my gift card to her office/private suite number", and she will process my order and then cash out the card with Metabank (the Visa company). If my card is not received she will charge my account. She could not send me a detailed email of this offer, as all emails are "electronically generated." She stated she (even as a supervisor) could not send me an email with this offer from her official Godiva email as she is working remotely from home (?). Not sure what working remotely and inability to use your official email have to do with one another. She could however, alter the "electronically generated" email to include her private suite number and her private phone number, but not the offer as noted above. I am still pending this email with confirmation that my new order is being process and with the necessary information to send her the gift card. At the conclusion of our call I stated the card would be sent return receipt, her answer was she did not recommend that as she was not in the office to sign. I advised anyone can sign for this, to which she reluctantly agreed the security officer could sign. I would like to believe she is genuine, however, I feel as if this is likely a scam, offered by a supervisors of Godiva. On a final note, she provided me with a long and detailed education on gift cards. Essentially recommending I advise the gift giver not to purchase any gift card in the future and that I consider not purchasing them myself.
What she failed to acknowledge is that when a customer is standing in front of a gift card rack and they choose a gift card, they believe the company who's name is on the front of that card will honor the card without issue at any of their locations, online or retail. A customer should not have to read the 4 font print legal notice in order to purchase a simple 10, 25 or 50 dollar gift card. Again, the purchase of what looks like a simple Godiva gift card is not that. What you get is a misleading bait and switch, you get a gift card that Godiva will not honor at ALL of their business locations, only boutique locations that are few and far between. A limited card such as this should only be sold at those locations where it may be redeemed and clear customer notification should be provided regarding the limitations of this gift card.

Horrendous business practice
I have always held Godiva in high regards. To my dismay, they do not deserve that consideration. I placed an online order and cancelled it 7 HOURS later. I called Godiva and spoke to Veronica (she said that she is a supervisor). Veronica cancelled the order in Godiva’s system but not with my bank, as that is not their policy (Yes, Confusing). Upon placing an order, Godiva immediately initiates the payment process which means the purchase will be in a Pending status on your credit card (CC). Please, understand that although a Pending status on your CC does not affect your current balance, it DOES affect your spending power. If you cancel an order with Godiva, they WILL NOT notify your bank. It is incumbent upon you to do so. Typically, a reputable company will notify the CC Company when an order is cancelled that way your purchasing power is unaffected. Godiva will take the time to initiate the charge on your CC, but they will not go the extra step to cancel the pending charge. This is unconscionable. I have spent HUNDREDS of dollars on Godiva – never again.

Just received two boxes from my son for mother's day. Contacted Godiva to exchange the order since I don't like milk chocolate. They won't exchange them,! I'll never buy from them again!

Stay away!
If I can give a zero star, I definitely would. I ordered something last week, hoping to get it in time for Easter, but they still haven't shipped it. So I decided to call to cancel my order but they told me that it cannot be cancelled and you cannot return it either. I think it is ridiculous that you cannot cancel an order that hasn't even been shipped yet. The customer service rep that I spoke with was also very rude, and she couldn't give me an explanation as to why I'm not allowed to cancel my order. She just kept telling me, in a rude way, that I cannot cancel my order anymore, although she doesn't know when it will be shipped. I will never ever order from them again!
