Pissed off and Feeling Scamed !!
I went to globaltel for friend of mine who's son is incarcerated and she ask me to figure out how to add minutes to her phone for him. On google this was the first thing that pops up so I go on the site it ask questions about the inmate then about your card info but never states how much you can add or anything about fees. While still on the site trying to find these answers they charged my card $45.99 and I was not trying to set a account just find out how to pay for mintutes for her phone she was puting $25 on there. Soon as it happend I called about a refund and their is more than one Globaltel so the first one was the incorrect one the second one was the correct one but only could give $31 dollars back because they keep $14.99 automatically. It has been 3 days I still dont have my money back and their customer service agents are nasty people with bad attitudes. Just give me my money back this company is horrible. Please use other companies!!!!!

They're doing a very deceiving deed.
The only good thing I can say about this company is that they responded to my support email very quickly. But everything else is terrible. They are running a business masquerading as Global Tel Link the company that runs the phones in many jails around the country. This company preys on people in a sensitive situation hoping they will mistake their company for the legitimate one. Well unfortunately I did just that. They charged me $45.99 for I don't even know what, without even telling me they were charging me for anything, I double checked, no where on the page does it say that you are paying for anything, It doesn't give you a receipt after you click the button, nothing. They just have you put in your credit card number, which i didn't think anything about since I was trying to make it easier for the next time my friend called me from jail, i though i was just putting it on the record so that I could pay for the phone call when he called next. The only way I knew I had paid anything was a notification from my bank. Then I contacted their support when I realized my error, asking for a refund. I have emailed. The phone number says the agents are busy and to leave a voice-mail. The email confirmation is where you will realize you've been dooped.
DONT MISTAKE THESE PEOPLE FOR THE ACTUAL SITE. I MISTOOK THEM FOR THE ACTUAL COMPANY THAT CONTROLS THE PHONES.

TERRIBLE

The only way I knew I had paid anything was a notification from my bank. Then I contacted their support when I realized my error, asking for a refund. They sent me three separate emails begging me to keep my account when all three times I made it abundantly clear that I wanted nothing to do with their business, because even if there was something beneficial about having an account with them (there isn't) I wouldn't want to do business with a company who relys on shady business practices and taking advantage of their customers while they are in a bad situation. Then finally when they reluctantly agreed that I could have a refund, they said that as per the terms and conditions I agreed to when making my purchase there would be a $14.99 service fee. I DIDN'T AGREE TO ANYTHING!!!!! I didn't even know that I was buying anything, so if they try to charge me that fee I am going to show proof to my bank of the shady business practices they are using and then i am going to go to the BBB with my complaint. Stay far away from this company, please don't make the mistake i did.
Edit: When I finally received the refund into my account, they did refund me the full 45.99, they did not keep the 14.99 fee. Thank goodness because I did not want to have to spend anymore time with this hassle. I told them that I would be contacting my lawyer if they tried to keep the $14.99 and I guess they decided it wasn't worth the effort to try to keep the fee from me.

Their online reviews are terrible but
Update: it's been 6 minutes since I posted this I just got an automated call saying funds in my account are low, really?? How could that be I opened the account yesterday with $46 my friend hasn't used the account and now funds are low? Okay we have a problem here. How lovely that they gave me a toll free number that I could call and speak to someone. Guess what? I'm calling now....
I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully it's just a glitch and that the account I set up is not active yet. (friend in jail) After spending two plus hours yesterday trying to set everything up with this company, because they don't take American Express, don't take Discover, only Mastercard or VISA. After I set it up I even had a nice conversation with someone there. I get a phone call from my friend today and the computer says I have to set up a payment system. What? When I called today I did not get a nice person on the other end I got a computer generated message that said they were too busy to take my call because they had too many other people calling. Then it hung up. I can guess why too many people were probably calling! I sent them an email waiting for a response.
