Arrival Time guarantees are a joke
My daughter was going on an international exchange with a family in Belgium, my wife and I had decided to send a gift basket to arive before her exchange partner departed belgium. Departure date was the 5th of Feb, so I went on the site and checked how long it was going to take and ordered it to arive on the 30 Jan. (that according to there system was the date of arival).. That way if anything went wrong they would still have it before she departed. Long story short it arived the 9th, even after I had requested the order be canceled if it could not be there by the 4th. So in the end instead of looking like a nice family we end up looking unprepared and disorganized.

Dear Kirk, My name is David Skol, Executive Director for GiftBasketsOverseas.com Thank you for your feedback which helps us improve our service. First and foremost, I want to apologize for the situation that happened with your order. I know very well how important it is to be thoughtful and caring for the family members away. When you have done everything on time and it appears the opposite: it is extremely frustrating. With this in mind we have taken a pending action (with your approval) to apologize to the recipient and explain that gift was ordered well in advance and we take a full responsibility for the 3rd party shipper's delivery delay. The reason the cancellation could not be effectuated when requested: the gift was already en-route across the border, so we could not cancel it on Feb 4th. We take customer service very seriously and do a lot to deserve the loyalty of hundreds of thousands of our satisfied customers. By no means we want to take any profit on the order where recipient or client are not satisfied: we have therefore refunded a delivery amount in full and also issued an additional store credit. We have also offered an apology gift to be sent anytime in the future, just let us know the date and we will be happy to send it to Belgium, to the USA or anywhere else in the World (in over 200 countries): http://www.giftbasketsoverseas.com/delivery_area_alphabetic.php We would be also happy to send it to a different recipient, if desired. I would also take an opportunity to explain the reasons for the delay with your order. To deliver our gifts Internationally we have to rely on the shippers such as DHL, FedEx, DPD. DPD required an address clarification to complete the delivery and this caused a delay. Rarely delays like these happen and shipping company fails to notify us in timely manner, which resulted in 2 business days delay + the weekend days. Tracking shows that order was shipped on time on Jan 29th for delivery on Feb 2 and was in Belgium on time, but not delivered locally due to the shipper's failure to recognize the address as valid. Here is the tracking link: http://extranet.dpd.de/cgi-bin/delistrack?pknr=05368001351841&typ=1&lang=en Once again: I am truly sorry that this happened with your order and would appreciate an opportunity to rectify it with apology gift to you or the recipient. You are welcome to contact me directly over the phone or email, which are shown below. Regards, David Skol, Executive Director www.GiftBasketsOverseas.com +1 (617) 938-3117
