WARNING
WARNING! If you use your mobile phone to make an appointment for a lab visit at Labcorp, be careful that you DON'T SELECT "Getlabs". Getlabs is contracted with Labcorp to provide home visits in lieu of you going to the Labcorp location yourself. It is confusing and frankly underhanded how they insert themselves into the process, and they charge an upfront fee of $99.00. Most people have insurance that covers lab fees and do not have to pay anything. However, once you make an appointment with Getlabs, they surprise you with a visit to your home from a person who is supposed to take your blood, etc. And, should you happen to not be at home (perhaps driving to your Labcorp location for the appointment you thought you made), they will keep your $99.00. Should you want to schedule another appointment with them, they will charge you ANOTHER $99.00. When I became aware that a person was actually going to come to my house to perform my lab tests, I canceled the appointment that same day (within an hour of selecting the wrong app button). Then after requesting to speak with a supervisor the next day, a supervisor, named Josh, called me and apologized for the confusion and promised that he was processing a full refund for me as we spoke. It has now been over 2 weeks since my refund was promised and I have not received a refund from Getlabs. Update - I just received a call from a Getlabs representative named Kay who told me that Josh had apparently failed to press a "refund key" so that is why my refund did not process. She said that she was doing that today and that my refund should arrive in approximately 5 days. We'll see. Nonetheless - I urge anyone considering using Getlabs to NOT use them if they have insurance that includes their lab fees. Getlabs has simply found a way to take money, mainly from seniors who don't know any better, and Getlabs doesn't want you to know this. UPDATE: 8/25/25 -- The refund that was promised on 8/5/25 was finally processed on 8/20/25. My Trustpilot review and a call to the President of Labcorp (the company Getlabs is contracted with) helped instigate the refund. I still do NOT recommend using Getlabs.
Response from GetlabsAug 22, 2025
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re truly sorry for the confusion you experienced. To clarify, Getlabs is a separate service from Labcorp that gives patients the option of having a licensed phlebotomist come to their home to complete lab work. Many of our patients choose this option because they’re unable to travel to a lab in person, and we’re proud to provide that support. In your case, it looks like the appointment was booked with us by mistake. We fully refunded your payment, and we sincerely apologize for the delay in processing that refund. While this was an unfortunate mix-up, please know that our service is designed specifically for people who need care brought to them, and we always want patients to feel confident about the choices they make when scheduling.
