Upon reviewing your case, our team discovered that when your communication transitioned from our chat messenger to a text message, it was inadvertently routed to a test account that is not monitored by our live support team. As a result, your messages were not seen or responded to in a timely manner. Our product and engineering teams are actively working on a solution to prevent this routing issue from recurring. Hi Dj, We wanted to take some time to provide some extra context for your claim. After an in-depth review of your account activity and submitted documentation, your plan was canceled due to a violation of our Terms and Conditions, section 4.10. Specifically, during your recent theft claim, you provided the ID of an individual other than yourself and account information was changed during the review process in a way that conflicted with our policy. Our plans are designed to cover a single individual and their devices, and our support and claims processes rely on accurate and consistent account information. Customers may not use their account to cover another person’s item. As a result, your protection plan was terminated in accordance with our membership agreement. We understand that this decision may be frustrating, but AKKO has a responsibility to protect the integrity of our service and ensure fairness for all members. Hi Jess, Thank you again for sharing your feedback! We’re sorry for the ongoing confusion here. We wanted to reply here to clarify that your claim was approved and fully paid out on April 22, 2025, even though the phone filed for was not the same one registered on your account. We also waived your deductible in full, a one-time exception we made to ensure you still received your benefit despite the discrepancy. In terms of billing, the only charge we’ve ever made to your account was the one-time $121 startup payment in January. There have been no additional charges since. We understand there was confusion around this, and we’ve sent several emails that have gone unanswered to explain in more detail and confirm everything was resolved. It looks like your bank initially issued a temporary credit while they reviewed the dispute filed, but then reinstated it after confirming that the service, including a paid claim, had been delivered.
