German with LauraReviews of germanwithlaura.com

I thoroughly enjoyed my learning experience with Laura. The course exceeded my expectations. She has a very positive and pleasant personality.

German Foundations is a superb course! I signed up for German Foundations because I liked what I experienced in the You-Tube free course "Learn German Smarter not Harder". I was not disappointed. German Foundations concentrates on basics giving you an understanding of the German language structure helping you think in German. I have not mastered German yet but feel confident that what I learned in Foundations will be the building block which I have been missing in my goal to speak and read German reasonably well. I enjoyed the course. Laura is very helpful and does interact with her students via facebook. She has a very positive and helpful approach. I also signed up for her German Vocabulary course which I am currently working my way through; again, I am extremely please with the course. I like how she organized each course and guides you step by step through the process.

I really liked Laura's approach to understanding the German case system.

Lessons with Laura simply made sense to me. I had struggled for a long time with my grammar. These courses have really helped me make some progress.

Laura is the best teacher ever. Her method made German's concept and learning fun and all that it's learn will stay in your brain forever!

Laura is a highly competent and effective teacher whose enthusiasm and teaching style is 1000% more engaging, more interesting, and more educational than the several in-class courses I have subjected myself to! If you have a real and serious desire to learn and understand the German language... I recommend Laura with 100% certainty.

Laura Bennett of "German with Laura" uses the slogan "Get unstuck with German grammar." I can report that I recently completed the Foundations course, and I am feeling "unstuck" for the first time in (literally) years. And I'm once again looking forward to more German education! This is an especially effective course for those who, like me, are prone to self-consciousness, and take some pride in speaking articulately and accurately in our native tongues. I have used 3 other German courses, over the past 5 years, which insist that studying grammar is futile, and that one must just begin speaking, pleased to make oneself even crudely understood, and reveling in learning from whatever dopey-sounding mistakes this creates. (Yet another case of extroverts shaming, or disregarding anyone less extroverted than themselves!) Didn't work for me, and I am quite sure I'm not alone. German with Laura reveals that learning gender, declensions, plural forms, prepositions, etc can be ingeniously systematized so that internalizing German grammar is possible, and rather quickly. This has given me the confidence that I can and will become accurate enough in speaking that I will not feel foolish. And I had been pretty close to giving it all up despite having reached "B1 Intermediate" level in reading and understanding German. Highly recommended, not only, but especially, if you see anything of yourself in this review.

Subscribing to the German with Laura courses is one of my best decisions. I started learning with Duolingo and Rosetta and picked up quite a bit, but I truly began learning the language with Laura’s grammar lessons. Her organized lessons cover 90% of the language one uses in reading, writing, and speaking. And she developed amazing charts that explain the case system, noun genders, articles, etc. Students can ask questions at any time and get a quick reply. Lessons are completed at the student’s convenience, which is great because I had to suspend my study of the vocabulary portion for three months. The lessons and materials are always available for review. German with Laura is a wise investment for anyone who is serious about learning the language. I recommend it and give it 5 stars!
