German with LauraReviews of germanwithlaura.com

It helped me a lot to undersand declensions and other basics rules of German for my A1 test, so it's great. It is oriented to english speakers who want to learn the basics of German, so if you have trouble speaking English it may be a little difficult for you. Nevertheless, my first language is Spanish but I also speak advanced English, and I didn't had any problems understanding the topics that Laura explained in her classes. I loved how this course explained to me the rules of German grammar straightforward and not indirectly like other online courses that I've made before.

I have spent a couple years with Duolingo. I learned a lot of words and basics from that but as I got into creating sentences it all seemed so random and I found I was no longer learning anything. I am an English only speaker and know nothing about grammar. (I do vaguely recall lessons in elementary school). I watched a lot of you tube videos to try to get my head around the rules for German, but I could not relate to what the rules are in English. I quickly realized that, for me anyway, until i can have a grasp as to what the grammar rules are in English, I'll never understand what is going on in German. I took a gamble on Laura's fundamental's program and was quite pleased. She walks you through each concept in English to get your brain working and understanding the rules that I just take for granted, then she moves on to the German exercises. There are a lot of exercises as well. I'm now taking the vocabulary builder course and I find myself frequently going back to some of the Foundations lectures when I get confused. For me - it's a pretty nice setup. Just to set the expectations however, this is a Foundations class. It is not an all inclusive grammar class. By the end of the class you will be able to create very simple sentences in the present tense. Languages are way more complicated than I ever imagined!

Excellent instructor. Breaks everything down into sections to simplify learning, especially the grammar parts. I recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn German

I thoroughly enjoyed the German Foundations course with Laura which I completed recently. Laura is an excellent tutor whose teaching methods are first class. Everything is explained clearly and she is more than happy to give prompt responses to students’ questions. The pace of the course was perfect for me and the fact that I can revisit the modules to reinforce my understanding is an added bonus. There is a good variety of materials with the course and these can be printed off or completed online. I got so much out of the course that I went on to do the Vocabulary Builder course. I thoroughly recommend both of Laura’s courses.

Laura provides a very calm and hands on approach to German Foundation and in all her courses. The structure of Laura's courses is as if she is working with you directly. Guiding you every step of the way. She provides a truly authentic learning experience. Her encouraging and positive mindset are perfect for beginners venturing into the German Foundations. German Foundation is an important course for Beginners as well as people like myself that have struggled to make progress as I could not understand how or why the grammar changed. Laura's course captures in a succinct manner the principles of the German language and provides lots of practice exercises and believe me lots of aha understanding moments and finally understand grammatical changes.

After struggling to learn German for almost a year with various conversational apps I found Learning with Laura’s Foundations of German Grammar course and every thing suddenly started to make sense. Her easy to understand, interactive styled explanations, mind blowing simple ways to understand rules for noun gender, word plurals and declensions, to mention a few, have done more for me than all the lessons through phrases I have struggled with for many months. The course is well structured, easy to follow and has the added bonus of life time access that allowed me to revisit any part that may need further study time or explanation. I thoroughly recommend this to any one struggling with the basic grammar structure of the language.

I loved Laura's German Course. I have struggled to understand Dative Case vs Accusative Case for years. It always seemed a bit of a mystery but Laura explains it so clearly, step by step, in a way that is easily understandable. Great information in small chunks. I also love that I can go back in and revise any parts I need to. Thank you Laura.

I have been learning German grammar with Laura for just over a year. Laura is a good teacher and explains things well in an interesting way. The quiz at the end of each session is helpful for you to find out what you need more practise with. Workbooks provided to download and print are useful for revising what you have learnt before progressing on to the next lesson. I would recommend this course.
