We have two genie garage door openers both model 3053. They open and close just fine the problem is programing them to a car. We have had nothing but struggles to get them to sync with a ram 1500, gmc sierra, land rover and finally Porsche Macan. Each instance required us to contact customer service and resort to work arounds only the genie people know. When we get to the Porsche Macan we called customer service 3 time each rep failed. The last two reps promised we would get a call from a higher level rep. We never received a call. I will be removing the Genie openers and installing Chamberlain openers they seem to have good reviews. And I am sure will have better customer support.

Waited an hour on the customer service line, only for them to hang up once I told them that I needed to walk to my garage. I have better things to do than to wait at my garage for an hour. Couldn’t have waited 30 seconds. Second call went faster, and the repairman came to fix the garage promptly. It’s a shame that the first call tainted the entire experience.

Hands down, this is the worst company I've ever dealt with, and I'm not young. I bought a unit from Genie's Amazon store, and I had issues immediately. Genie's reps did everything possible to get rid of me, even closing a chat saying it was "inappropriate" (odd, since there were no harsh words at all). Finally, I wanted a replacement board, and I was told I had to prove it was a new unit even when I bought it from Genie's storefront! I just talked to a garage door repairman who was fixing a cable, and he ranted about how bad the company is and how they use plastic gears and circuit boards that don't last. He said he wouldn't touch them even under any circumstances, not for installation or repair.

I was having trouble reprogramming the keypad. I called customer service and waited 64 minutes for a callback. In the process of reprogramming, the agent was rude, condescending and downright bitchy. I called her on it saying “hey I am just trying to get some help here and you are being just AWFUL. Would you just BE NICE?” Instead of apologizing for her attitude, she defended it saying I was not listening. We FINALLY got the job done, but it was a terrible customer service experience. If I could get ahhold of the company, I would formally complain.

garage opener 7055 4 years old under warranty stop working all customer service after trouble shoot for about 30 min with [coco representative] she told me I have to take the opener apart and call again to keep trouble shooting I told her that is not happening I lost two fingers trying to fix my garage door a year ago her answer hire a technician that will be more expensive then buying a new opener she said its your choice and hang up on me and on top of you don't speak Spanish don't call they Spanish customer service its always closed

I had a HORRIBLE experience with customer support. I called to determine what my issue was (error in door sensor(s)). After a few trips up the ladder to give details about the unit, I was told to replace all of the wiring to RULE OUT a faulty sensor?! I have an insulated garage and replacing the wiring will take days. It's FAR easier to return this piece of #&%$ and purchase something that works!

What a terrible experience this has been. Dozens of troubleshooting for different reasons. The worst product I’ve seen in long time. Always breaking and you can never fix it unless you get a call back after an hour of waiting for customer service.

I don’t wanna give a star either bought a house in 2023 pre-installed Ginni garage door opener a breaks down an 1/2 year called the company and they said was only one year warranty on nothing and they’re charging a lot of money to replace it they come here to answer to make them good but my builder said that the genie products are so bad so they don’t use them in their new build houses stay away from from this con company
