Bought a Coachman Beyond Van, I agreed on a price of 138k. I traveled from Wi to Michigan to pick it up & also put down 20k which would have brought down the total cost to 118k right? To find out all the hidden cost they put on to wipe out that 20k to bring the cost back up to 138k plus you don't find out till they Email the total paperwork & down load it. to find out also the driver side mirror was broke that was not disclosed to me also the van was used by someone in that company for a road trip which the signs were sand on the floor plastic spoons & forks in the drawers damaged or worn marks on cabinets. I bought the van with a supposed odometer mileage of 305 turns out when I noticed the odometer @ 889! When I brought this to their attn. they tried to sweep it under with excuses & a 100 bucks! Totally the worst company I ever experienced!

Found a motorhome we liked here
Found a motorhome we liked here. Called to make an appt to view it (ready to buy). Found out one of the employees was taking it on vacation and were told we’d have to wait to see it. Very off putting and rude to deny a paying customer. I see why this place gets such poor reviews. We’ll go elsewhere.

Went to General RV to purchase our very…
Went to General RV to purchase our very first camper, my husband & myself. What we thought was going to be a pleasant experience has not turned out to be that. The salesman that we dealt with was great! We worked the numbers, were informed we had to pay a pre delivery inspection fee as well as some other fees. Fine, we will pay the extra fees to make sure that our RV is in great working order when we pick up. We show up on pick up day, takes us 3 hours to work through the whole pick up service (were passed off to many different people). Made some purchases from the RV store & were told they could put these items in the camper for us. Great! After we finally get home (4 hours later) because we live almost an hour away, we notice the items we purchased were not in the camper 😠. So Saturday morning, we have to drive another hour there and another hour back to retrieve the items we already had paid for. Later that weekend, we go out to do some things in the camper and we notice when we turn the battery power switch on, there is no electric. My husband proceeds to do some testing (he is an electrician) and finds out there is no proper connection with the battery! We contact General RV and they tell us we are going to need to drive ANOTHER HOUR BACK to bring the RV back. That Friday we return with the RV so here we are leading into a weekend so now they can’t look at it until the following week. They determined that yes my husband is correct and the wiring to the battery is non existent/damaged. They file this under the warranty and receive the “ok” from Winnebago to make the repairs. Well, thank gosh because this is brand new 2026 RV. Now, back to the pre delivery inspection that I mentioned before, if the PDI was in fact completed, how did they miss that the electrical to the battery was no good? The electricity is a major component so I am having a hard time understanding if the PDI was even truly completed or was this just negligence on their behalf.. We paid $1,779 for an inspection to be completed that I very strongly feel was not and have been offered $500 as a “goodwill favor” A favor?!?! Maybe the favor should have been completing the PDI that WE PAID FOR! We were also told the hook ups & connections were already installed for the back up camera as well and when attempting to hook that up, we also found out that was false information. We have made several requests to the store manager to provide us with a copy of the PDI that was completed only to be told these are internal documents that they cannot supply to us and that when we signed off on buying the camper we bought it “as is”. As a consumer, I am very certain that I have a right to an itemized bill that I was charged a fee for. We have pursed getting a reimbursement through General Rv for a PDI that was not completed and that has been a joke. This dealership is horrible, the worst buying experience for first time RV purchasers and I 100% do NOT recommend anyone using them.

ZERO STARS
ZERO STARS - SKETCHY!
Salesman told us a price that seemed too good to be true without us even throwing out a bartering price yet…that price was reiterated with salesman which he shook his head yes (mind you all of this is on their surveillance for their review)
Derek Bosch, sales manager, comes out with his finance form and the price that was thrown at us is now $8,182 higher than salesman threw at us. When questioned about the final price configuration Derek Bosch made a snarky comment then told us to leave the store. We happily obliged.
Derek then sends a email asking for feedback where he should have left it alone…but since he’s asking for feedback…well…that’s exactly what they are getting.

Worst RV Dealership around
Worst RV Dealership around. Service department is even worse. Took our brand new Coachman class b van in for dead coach batteries. Was told they would replace both batteries under warranty. They only replaced one with a standard car battery. They installed the battery on its side, draining battery acid all over the battery tray, generator and undercarriage. I took it back, and they let it sit with the battery acid all over it for a week, replaced one battery, and didn't even try to clean it. Now I have damage to the underside of our new coach. Went to pick it up as we were told it was ready, waited for an hour just for them to drive it up front. Horrible attitudes from the service writer.

Don't bother clicking the"Get the best…
Don't bother clicking the"Get the best price" button. I did and got nothing but a run around. Never received a dollar value. They started with "We have a ton of activity on these things" to try to put the pressure on immediately. I asked for their best price, and they kept asking for more personal information until I just cut things off.

Buyer Beware
Buyer Beware – My Experience with General RV
I purchased a used Tiffin Allegro Open Road motorhome from General RV and my experience has been extremely disappointing.
During the purchase, I was charged approximately $4,000 for dealer preparation, Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), and repair-related work that I was led to believe had been completed before delivery. However, shortly after taking possession of the coach, I discovered numerous defects, including safety-related issues.
Among the problems found were:
• Brake and taillight failures
• Dry-rotted windshield wipers
• Entry step malfunction
• Missing toilet seal causing sewer gas intrusion
• Carbon monoxide and propane detector issues
• Loose propane fittings with potential leak concerns
• HVAC water intrusion and HVAC failure
• Tires underinflated by as much as 20 PSI
• Electrical system defects
• Rear camera visibility problems
• Slide system defects
One of the first issues involved the slide system. The extended warranty company denied coverage because it determined the problem was a pre-existing condition that should have been discovered during the dealer's inspection process. This conclusion was also confirmed by Tiffin and the certified repair technician who repaired the coach.
When concerns were raised, I found customer service slow to respond and difficult to work with. In my experience, significant follow-up was required before receiving answers or assistance. It often appeared that the sales department and service department operated independently rather than working together to resolve customer concerns.
General RV ultimately reimbursed for the repair expenses of the slide, but only after more than a month of communications and repeated follow-up (this was a challenge when staff did not respond or acknowledge communication).
There are concerns involving inspection records. I was initially told no inspection report existed. Later, I was told inspection, and preparation documents did exist but would not be provided because they were “proprietary”. As a customer who paid approximately $4,000 for preparation and inspection services, I found this frustrating and concerning, and a questionable costumer service practice.
My experience raises the following questions for prospective buyers:
• What specific work was performed during dealer preparation and PDI?
• What documentation exists to verify that work?
• How were numerous defects missed before delivery?
• If a major defect is later determined to be pre-existing, who is responsible?
My advice to anyone considering purchasing a used RV from General RV is:
• Obtain all promises in writing.
• Require detailed documentation of any dealer prep or inspection charges.
• Have an independent RV inspector examine the coach before purchase.
• Personally test every system, appliance, slide, camera, light, and safety device.
• Do not assume that this dealer’s preparation means all defects have been identified and/or repaired.
Based on my experience, consumers should be prepared to advocate aggressively for themselves if significant issues arise after purchase.
In my case, repeated communication alone was not sufficient to obtain meaningful responses or resolution. I ultimately found it necessary to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and pursue assistance through consumer protection channels.
Prospective buyers should understand that resolving disputes may require extensive documentation, persistent follow-up, and the involvement of outside organizations such as the Better Business Bureau, state consumer protection agencies, and/or the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.
Depending on the nature of the dispute and the amount involved, consumers may also need to consult an attorney or pursue legal remedies through the court system to obtain documentation, enforce commitments, or seek reimbursement for disputed charges.
After my experience, my recommendation is to keep copies of all advertisements, purchase documents, repair invoices, emails, text messages, and notes from phone conversations from the very beginning of the transaction. Detailed records may become essential if a dispute develops
This review reflects my personal experience and the documented issues I encountered after purchasing my motorhome from General RV.
