Extremely Disappointed With Costco/GE…
Extremely Disappointed With Costco/GE Warranty Service Our GE stove/oven has been completely unusable since July 12, and the warranty/service process through Costco and GE has been incredibly frustrating. We have now dealt with two different repair companies, and the wrong or incorrect parts have been ordered THREE times. We have spent HOURS on the phone between Costco, GE, and the contracted repair companies, and no one seems to communicate with each other. Costco directs us to GE. GE directs us to the repair company. The repair company is difficult to reach or has completely different information than GE. GE will tell us a technician will be coming on a certain date, only for the service company to call and tell us they cannot come until much later. We have also been told that parts would be "overnighted," only for the parts not to arrive or the repair company to have no record of the order. What makes this situation especially unacceptable is that this is a GAS SAFETY ISSUE, not simply an appliance that isn't working properly. When the gas supply is turned on, gas flows freely from the front right burner without ignition. This issue has been reported from the beginning. Because of the gas leak, we cannot safely turn on or use our stove or oven AT ALL. We have three young children, and being without a stove and oven for nearly a month has been a significant hardship. Cooking at home is the most economical option for our family, and we have had to spend considerably more money eating out and finding alternative ways to prepare meals while waiting for this to be resolved. I am extremely disappointed that after multiple service appointments, three incorrect part orders, countless phone calls, and hours of our time, we still have a GE appliance that cannot safely be used because of leaking gas. We purchased through Costco expecting that their warranty and customer service would provide some level of protection if something went wrong. Instead, we have been passed back and forth between Costco, GE, and third-party repair companies with no one taking responsibility for actually resolving the problem. At this point, we do not need another phone call, another incorrect part, or another delayed appointment. We need the appliance repaired immediately or replaced. This entire experience has been unacceptable, particularly given the serious safety concern involved.
