Terrible service. Couldn’t cancel during the free trial period. That section of their website conveniently didn’t work until after they had taken the first payment following the free trial. I am still blocked from removing my card details apparently because I have a live subscription. They are ignoring any emails I send them.

Massive scam
Massive scam. I tried the free trial but decided to cancel as there wasn’t that much I actually wanted to watch.
The cancel subscription button only logs me out of their website.
The remove card details button doesn’t work at all.
The how to contact page is blank or won’t load.
I’m going to have to cancel my card.

Some good shows, terrible service.
They get 1 star for making some good dubs... however, they choose to waste money on dubbing bad shows with low ratings often, so I can't give them too much credit. Aside from that, their entire service is trash. Episodes don't play half of the time, sometimes entire series go missing without warning, everything is so slow and buggy. They don't communicate with anyone about their plans to improve the services.

Constant streaming problems cropping up…
Constant streaming problems cropping up no matter what I use, PC browser, PC app, phone app, 3 different PC's. My connection is 80Mb down and 40 up. Has been happening since I joined about 6 months ago. It works OK for a few days or so then goes bad. Apart from that it is also one of the worst sites of its kind to use even when its working. I have Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney - all are so much better. Every time I use it I think about cancelling it.

Overall a bad service
After a few months of paying for a subscription I decided to cancel. Overall it's just been a big disappointment. Most of it has been said in earlier reviews but to reiterate:
- it's a streaming service that really (and I mean REALLY) sucks at streaming - there is no quality setting, download speeds are abysmal, even loading an episode or available shows listing takes a long time;
- mobile app is quite unstable and glitchy; of course the issues with streaming speeds don't make the overall experience any better;
- PS4 app is absolutely broken; it works for 15 minutes, then refuses to work for days on; Funimation's official statement was that "it's not supported" (way to cut off a chunk of your viewer base!) so they're not looking to fix it;
- support is basically non-existent.
But what grinds my gears the most, are the following two issues:
1. Censorship. Funimation claim that they don't censor the shows themselves, but only publish whatever the distributors "gave them". Excuse me, but you must be joking. You are paying for the content, are you not? Are you saying you're being given scraps and then just put your tail between your legs and run away? You have the censored version of an anime produced specifically to mock censorship!
2. Region lock. As I live in the UK I constantly feel like a second-class citizen, due to so many shows simply unavailable to me. I pay the same subscription fees as users from other countries, then why am I being denied access to the same content?
Overall, not a very pleasant experience.

Funimation:STAY AWAY
I was at Walmart browsing and glanced at movies and saw the movie Shin Godzilla Blu Ray DVD and with UV Digital..so i purchased this and a few others..to my horror i opened it and they wanted me to redeem it at Funimationdigitalcopy instead of vudu..so went there and attempted to redeem it and it said the code does not exist or i put it in wrong(which i didnt,i tried it 5 times)same result everytime. so,wrote the company funimation to ask for help.and since i purchased this 2 weeks ago i no longer have the receipt and apparantly they require that.but heres a question,if i didnt buy it,how did i give them the code,which i gave to them.anyway,bottom line is they give bad codes that dont exist and refuse to help you with any problems your codes have on their site..one of the worst companys i have ever dealt with when it comes to digital codes.if you buy there products,dont expect to get it on digital at all.their codes dont exist.and if you are lucky to redeem it,to my knowledge they do not port.awful.wont buy there products again.
Glad i wasn't dumb enough to even try to subscribe to any of their bs subscriptions..heard too many horror stories on their streaming serrvice.

I made a profile on here just to rate…
I made a profile on here just to rate them. Funimation is a poor company now. The heart and soul of the inner company is gone. Most of the voice actors and their catalogs is all they have left. So here is my personal gripes with them. They cancelled my account, and then blocked me after a week of use. Then started me back up again. When I reached out to customer service they said "Well it works now have a good day." Which isn't the point. I wanted to know if I did something wrong, but was provided with no answers. The app just works when it wants too on my console or streaming from my phone to my TV. Sometimes it won't even recognize my login info. Which is splendid. Then on top of all that when I made a review on the google play store, a developer of the app actually reached out to get my experience. They wanted to ask me some personal questions. Which I thought was neat that they took the time to read my one review. When reaching out to them. They simply told me, that they "Didn't have the time to address my problems with the app, and would not give me the developers email." Which I was told to ask about when I actually got someone back. This app proves why people go to pirating stuff. If you want to actually support the anime industry, go buy merch, Crunchyroll is at least stable, and has the same library, or even go to patreon support. There are much better options to support this industry than giving money to this company. At least you can buy dubbed anime for used prices at mom and pop shops if you like the dubs of a few key anime.

Streaming quality is horribly outdated. I only watch because of the licensing that they have.
The selection is great... beyond that it's awful. It's 2020, and I have so many difficulties streaming with them. It takes 1-2 minutes on the Iphone to load up a show's episode list. You'll be lucky for it to load up and start playing within 3-5 minutes(without buffering) when streaming onto Chromecast. Watching it on my Laptop is a better experience but not by much. I'm watching Initial D, and for whatever reason when I try to start an episode, sometimes it randomly tries to redirect me(in which the only way to stop it is to go back to the home page) to an even later episode, sometimes spoiling it for me in the process. Even on Laptop, it takes a few minutes to actually start streaming. Overall, their streaming is very much horribly outdated(its a challenge and headache to even get it to start playing alot of the times), and the stories of them scamming people is ridiculous. It's 2020, i'm streaming on a brand new high performance gaming laptop, Iphone 11, and a brand new Chromecast, and they all have difficulties dealing with the streaming issues f Funimation. The fact that this company has the licensing that it has for a lot of great shows, is an absolute shame and embarrassment to the industry.
