Customer service is extremely slow. They didn’t book the first two blood draws were supposed to be booked at once. Never happened and no way to rebook. Also did the draw in AZ to avoid a $248 fee and now I have to try and do the second one in NJ and telling me I have to pay that fee. That’s false advertising. It increases your price by 65%. Seriously thinking about doing a chargeback on credit card for this disaster and the very very slow response plus the fact you can’t talk to anyone. Also would be very vocal on social media negatively if this doesn’t get resolved soon

Bad Partnership with GetLabs
They use GetLabs for providing a "concierge" service for blood collection and cancel at the last minute. You pay $300+ for a blood test, prepare with fasting, ensuring your pets are away and then they cancel at the last minute.
The next day for service a week from now, else go in person. You can tell that you offer a premium service if you cancel on it and don't provide enough time slots

Registered for a full lab test and Cancer screen MRI and learned that I paid an extra $800 for cancer "lab" which produced zero results or findings. Very disappointing, as I had paid for a screen.

Poor Experience and Incompetence
This round was a frustrating experience compared to my first panel in October 2025.
Logistics were a significant issue. My blood draw had problems getting to the lab, which delayed the entire process by approximately four months. For a service built on the promise of comprehensive, timely health data, a four-month turnaround undermines the core value proposition especially for the amount I paid compared to the first draw. By the time I received my complete results and clinician notes in July, I had already started new medications, made supplement changes, and adjusted my lifestyle based on my own research and other clinical consultations. The data arrived too late to inform the decisions it was supposed to guide.
The clinician notes contained factual errors that could have led to inappropriate clinical decisions if I hadn't caught them. Most notably, the notes framed my lipid worsening as occurring "despite statin therapy," implying the medication was failing. In reality, I filled the rosuvastatin prescription on April 14 but did not begin taking it until after the blood draw. The statin had zero pharmacological effect on these results. A clinician reading these notes without additional context could have unnecessarily escalated therapy or questioned medication efficacy based on a false premise.
More concerning, the notes repeatedly referenced symptoms I never reported — joint stiffness, pain, redness, and difficulty building muscle. Multiple clinical conclusions were built on these phantom symptoms, including recommendations for rheumatology monitoring, gut barrier investigations, and muscle maintenance concerns. None of these symptoms exist. I don't know where this information came from — whether it was generated by AI, pulled from a questionnaire I don't recall completing, or simply fabricated — but attributing symptoms a patient doesn't have and building clinical narratives around them is a serious quality issue.
Some of the clinical guidance felt generic and not tailored to my actual situation. I have a complex cardiovascular profile including documented coronary plaque on CCTA, a coronary calcium score, nuclear stress perfusion data, cardiovascular genetics (9p21 high-risk), and ancestry-specific pharmacokinetic considerations for my statin dosing. None of this context was incorporated into the clinician notes despite being directly relevant to interpreting the lipid findings and making treatment recommendations. The advice read as template-driven rather than personalized to someone with documented coronary artery disease and advanced imaging.
The testing platform itself remains excellent — 282 markers with advanced panels including HDL function, cardiovascular genetics, NMR lipoproteins, Lp-PLA2, and comprehensive autoimmune workups is genuinely best-in-class. The data quality when it arrives is outstanding. But the value of comprehensive data is diminished when it takes four months to receive, arrives with phantom symptoms embedded in the interpretation, and doesn't account for the clinical context that makes the data actionable.
I'll continue using Function Health for the testing platform, but I'll continue interpreting my own results rather than relying on the clinician notes.
