Scheduling if your period is unpredictable is awful, and Quest is horrible. The concierge service was great but they are booked out and my tech didn't give me a wipe for a clean catch so my sample was contaminated.

I liked the ease of scheduling and results breakdown. I do not like that after purchasing my package it asked me multiple times to add additional items (really felt pressured to purchase additional items). While I liked the typed summary I was under the impression that I would receive a 1 on 1 consultation with a provider. I also don't like that it auto signs you up for renewal

The analysis of my blood was complete in the extreme. When the work was done it asked for feedback. If I were not very focused on my health, I would never have submitted to it. So, when FH gave me a biological rating four years older than my chronological age I commented about it. I was told to make a suggestion. FH uses certain blood markers to determine biological age. There are many other factors that contribute to a person's biological age that FH ignores. Its chatbot admitted that. I think FH fails miserably in its definition and use of the term biological age.

1st visit the support person i messaged messed up the order, and didn’t have all the test on at once so luckily I didn’t break my fast but I had to go back in and do a second draw the same day. And it was only caught because I happened to ask the worker why the urine sample wasn’t included and had to come back out and talk to a support person to find out that it wasn’t done correctly. So luckily I caught it, but that would have been very frustrating considering I live an hour from the nearest bloodwork center and wouldn’t have been able to go back same day if I would’ve broke my fast immediately. Also, it was not made clear that the second test would not be testing all the same biomarkers. The advertising even on the website says 100+ bio markers tested twice a year, and I didn’t find anything anywhere say that that was not true until I went to go schedule my second test. But I’m sure that’s a common complaint that people leave, because it’s deceitful. There should also be a way in the app to sort your first results from your second ones. Also, every time you click a bio marker and sends you back to the top of the list and you have to scroll all the way back down to look at the next bio marker again. Also other companies have an edge over Function because they allow you to message someone to have a conversation about the results in the clinical notes and function doesn't.

I have mixed feelings about Function Health. First, I genuinely believe the concept is excellent. Giving people affordable, comprehensive access to their own health data has the potential to be transformative. The testing itself was straightforward, my blood draw was easy to schedule, and my lab results were available relatively quickly. Unfortunately, my experience after receiving those results fell well short of my expectations. I waited approximately 6–7 weeks for my clinician review. During that time, I reached out to customer support around the four-week mark and was told they were still within their stated six-week turnaround time and that someone would contact me. Eventually, I was informed that attempts had been made to reach me by phone, but I have no record of any missed calls or voicemails. I never spoke to anyone. One of my results required follow-up, so rather than waiting indefinitely, I scheduled appointments with my physician to begin addressing it. In the end, the clinician report felt more like a delayed formality than meaningful guidance. What disappointed me most wasn’t the wait itself—it was the experience of feeling unsupported after the testing was complete. Function Health has built an impressive platform, but the human side of the experience didn’t match the promise. When you’re providing health information that may identify significant findings, timely communication and follow-through are essential. I still believe the company’s mission has enormous potential, and I sincerely hope they continue to improve because this model could have a tremendous positive impact. However, based on my experience, it currently feels like the technology and growth of the platform have outpaced the level of personalized care and support being delivered. I wanted this experience to exceed my expectations. Instead, I came away believing the idea is exceptional, but the execution still has a long way to go!!
