Not having a human to talk to and schedule appointments was all impossible and when it said that Dr review your results, it was just all AI generated not happy not recommending anybody to do it no more ever doing it again

There is a massive security concern
There is a massive security concern. Your results are interpreted by AI. They control the appointment data so you CANNOT see what they are ordering nor can you export your data. Nor can the lab tell you what was ordered because you don't own the appointment. While the value for the money isn't horrible, use at your own security and privacy risk.

Exchanging my health data for…clinician-approved AI summaries.
Function health was a good idea until the AI-based features were launched. As someone who works in data, I know a slop model launched prematurely when I see one. It was also pretty aggravating to see that AI is leveraged by customer service agents, as well. There’s no longer a human experience to be found here, which would be good and fine if the app functioned appropriately. I get my labs done through Quest, but Function doesn’t release any of your lab results to your Quest account, if you have one. However, my Quest account is what my providers can see. If my results are not released to Quest, my providers cannot see my labs. Function’s offer is for me to use the ‘Print PDF’ feature in the app. However, there’s no differentiation for when each set of lab results were generated and there’s no way to filter that on the app, either. So, no, I cannot print a PDF to take to my providers when they’re seeing some new lab results + two to three years old lab results and taking that as my CURRENT clinical presentation. This is also where the clinician summaries come in. There’s no way that my most-recent set of labs is explaining that my labs from 2024 are also current, and both are being referenced together in my 2026 health summary for labs I got done two weeks ago. Clinician Summaries? There’s no way a clinician would ever say that my 2024 state of health and my 2026 state of health are one in the same. Clinician-Approved AI summaries? Sure, let’s go with that. It’s closer to what it actually is, so long as a ‘Clinician’ can skim it and sign off on it, I guess. When I attempt to ask ‘Customer Service’ to release my results to Quest, as I’ve SUCCESSFULLY been able to do previously, I get a very suspiciously written message a few minutes later with multiple paragraphs explaining how Function doesn’t have an integration with MyQuest and that I can ‘Print a PDF’ to take to my clinicians. Meanwhile, neither of those things have anything to do with my request, which flags to me as keyword-parsing + AI-assisted response generation, approved by a rep. And of course, there’s no (AI-unassisted) person you can reach out to directly over the phone. So, I’m essentially left with a waste of $500 and a company holding my health data hostage.

I got my results
I got my results, though it is not clear wether or not they are complete or if I need to revisit the lab. The website does not work as advertised. I cannot download PDFs to share with my MD. There is a chat bot, but no human support is available. That is just not acceptable service. I would not buy from Function again.

Very sad because I really look up to…
Very sad because I really look up to Dr. Hyman. Overall it was good but the fact that they messed up part of blood test and then gave me a referral $100 credit but said I couldn’t use it on my current membership made no sense. I should be able to use it towards my current membership. Won’t be using this again.
Update:
They offered me a $50 gift card on a new membership because of my experience 😆 so I have to pay for another membership to use the gift card. That’s even worse than the $100 referral bonus. What a joke.

honestly- the ai cx platform is so frustrating. It took me weeks to rebook an appointment that was misbooked by the team and it was just super disappointing.

Paid hundreds of dollars for add on tests that were not provided
I paid several hundreds of dollars to do some add on tests in addition to my mid-year test, and none of the add on test results came through. I contacted support and they said that these add on tests weren't added to my lab visit and that I'd need to schedule another test to do them, even though the confirmation for the add on tests stated expressly the date that I had my blood drawn. I pointed this out to the customer service rep and got no response. Very dissatisfied.
UPDATE: Function has now confirmed that they simply did not add the additional tests to the date of my mid-year blood draw (despite the fact that the receipt said they would be done on that date), so I now have to have my blood drawn again. No explanation was provided as to how this happened. And they didn't tell me that the tests were not a part of my blood draw -- I had to point this out to them. For the money you pay this is not the kind of service one should be getting.
