It’s great to take control over my health. Doctors do not have the time to be as proactive as I can be for myself.

I noticed last year that my PSA was a little elevated last year from my Function labs. What I wasn’t knowledgeable about until viewing my function labs was that the PSA free % was low and can be an indication of something being off and possibly cancer. Nobody ever talks about that number, only the total PSA. I decided to take advantage of Function Healths offer for a whole body scan and assumed if anything was wrong it would show up. After paying and trying to schedule an appointment I was turned down during the questionnaire. I don’t remember exactly what the messaging was except that after inputting my PSA score they said something to the effect that I needed to either contact my doctor or get a specialized specific MRI. My credit card was reimbursed an then my journey started: prostate specific mri, biopsy, petscan, and now I’m waiting for the scheduler at City of Hope to call me with a date for surgery. Btw, I also paid for the Galleri cancer screening lab. That actually didn’t show any cancer even though I have prostate cancer. My hope is that at least means I don’t have cancer anywhere else. I am grateful for Functional Health as I could have gone a few more years without knowing cancer was growing inside of me and found out when it was too late. I’m not looking forward to what’s ahead in the near future but grateful all the same! Btw I guessed on the date posted on this form. I’d have to check to see exactly when this journey began.

It was very helpful to get a detailed look at each system and get recommendations on how to improve. I especially appreciated the foods and supplement suggestions, very helpful!

Love the comprehensive assessment that is really unheard of for a healthy person in their 30s to have with a PCP. I discovered my cholesterol is a little elevated which led me to watch my diet and supplement to take action before it got too out of control. It's also comforting to see all the labs that are normal and to know my body is functioning well.
