After several weeks, of hearing nothing, I finally got my results. I guess I was ecpecting more.

The test results are great. The summaries are fine. But now what do I do? Just eat off of the do list and avoid the don't list? Same with the supplements? All at once? Ease into it? If I have insulin resistance and need to watch my sugars, how do I do that while keeping my cholesterol down? Lots of food items work against these two areas. What about my low hormones? What can I do about that? My regular doctors wants me on synthetic pills, that's why I went through you. I guess I need a bit of simplification or some sort of plan to work through.

I am glad I used this through the black Friday sale. I shared all the info with my GP, cardiologist, nephrologist, VA doc, and some medical research friends. They all said a lot of info and they thought it was good info especially at the lower price, but not at full price. Aside from a couple of tweaks, not much was changed. I will be cancelling the subscription.

I like seeing all of my results and knowing what I am at risk for. However, what do I do now that I know my results? That's what's lacking in this service.

First, FunctionHealth makes things easy to schedule and the results are very informative and easy to read. I was shocked at the second blood test results though because I assumed everything was retested or at least areas of concern. The second blood draw was just a smaller number of tests and for me personally, none of these were in the areas I was concerned about based on the first results.

I was expecting that in the follow up exams they include the markers in which we have bad results but not. So in my particular case the follow up was not useful to evaluate my health because I don’t know if my values improve or not for the markers I had bad results in the first exams. And if you want to include the markers you should pay more so at the end I couldn’t see the long term benefit.

I had some snafu's scheduling and some of the advice seems canned / AI generated.

Good price for the tests and attractive interface. I have generally been frustrated about some of their policies like taking away the ability to have lab results uploaded to My Quest as well as Function which limits our access and what we are able to control about our data as Quest supports API functionality, though Function does not. There may be security concerns as Function claims, though with both Quest and Function being HIPAA, I don't really see it. All they can really say is having our results available in more than one place is less security, but many of us want the ability to use the Quest API to easily sync our results with other systems. Maybe that is less secure, but it is done by our own choice and hopefully we are choosing secure systems. We download our PDF's and share them wherever we want so all Function is doing is making it harder to use our data outside of their system. Almost every blood testing organization allows for API syncing, so function is an outlier on this decision though they are new and still developing. I want to like function, though I wish they would allow us to continue to get our data in My Quest while they continue to develop their product. It took me months of messaging them about this to finally get an answer that didn't feel like I was just being brushed off. I appreciate that I finally got a better answer, but wish it hadn't required so many messages to get a better answer. "Thank you for sharing your perspective so candidly.
