🚨 Biological Age scores not accurate
🚨 Biological Age scores: buyer beware 🚨 After multiple tests with Function Health, my husband and I saw our “Biological Age” jump 10–30 years — despite only minor, clinically insignificant changes in actual lab markers. When we asked how this was calculated, Function confirmed: • The score is automatic and not reviewable • No member-level breakdown is available • No clinician or data scientist can explain individual results • The only explanation is “it’s based on an NIH study” To be clear: the science exists. The transparency doesn’t. If a health metric: • Can swing by decades • Can’t be reconciled with your labs • Can’t be explained when it looks wrong …it’s not actionable for consumers. My takeaway (opinion): treat “Biological Age” as a wellness/engagement score, not a precise measure of your health. Focus on real biomarkers. Numbers you can’t audit aren’t insight — they’re noise. (Sharing my experience so others can decide for themselves.)
