Update: FH reached out. Got the allergy test done, website is confusing and does not do a great job with any extra tests ordered. . Don't know why the test was not ordered first time around. Wasted another couple of hours and two more vials of blood. The overall idea of functionhealth is great but I made a note to self - Don't order any addl tests... Original review - Did not receive my food allergy test even though I paid for it !!!!

I would like to see a full vitamin panel testing. I was looking to see what I may be deficient in and was unable too.

Excellent service. I am really happy with it. However, Function Health will NOT work with you to substantiate your purchase for FSA purposes. No matter what request I made, their replies sounded like a broken record: They don't do this... They don't do that. So be ready to see your FSA claims denied and just pay directly out of pocket. Hence the three stars. But let me be clear: It's totally worth it.

Overpriced for what you get

I liked being able to schedule so many blood draws for the price. I liked the notes I received with a detailed analysis. I found it extremely difficult to use the website because (a) communications had to be solely through chat, and the chat was not helpful. The referral to a “Concierge service” seemed to be a referral to another chat bot. Scheduling blood draws was difficult, as was scheduling the type of blood draw I wanted. For example, after my initial blood draw, function Health notified me that within two months I should be retested on two specific parameters. Therefore I indicated on the website that I wanted a retest on those two specific parameters, of both of which were high. Instead, my follow up blood draw two months later was a retest for parameters that I did not request. I wanted to wait at least six months for my follow up retests that are included in the package. I was unable to schedule a retest on the two parameters that are high, which function health encouraged me to get retested within two months.

They need to disasscoiate with Quest Diagnostics - getting /going to an appointment there is so ghetto. I also don't feel like I got any answers on my core issues (osetoarthritis and dimished ovarian reserve) - just bloodwork, but no answers on what to do for my unique issues. I probably could have gone through health insurance to get the seame lab results so not really sure of the value, though I do enjoy the biological age feature for fun and learned a bit more about my chloesterol in depth,

I liked the self-empowerment idea behind Function, and how thoughtful and expansive the doctor summary was. However, the blood draw took way too much blood at one time, which left me as an anemic who had been told it would be fine, convulsing and almost in the ER a few hours later due to blood loss.

The basic concept and service is reasonably good. The biggest issue I have is customer support. There is no number you can call to speak with a human. Their AI chat is useless, as it can't answer anything you couldn't figure out on your own. When it realizes you need an agent, it tells you to go about your day, and they'll answer you. HOWEVER, they don't answer you. Although the service seems legit, it unfortunately feels really shady to have a medical service that has no support. And very frustrating for something akin to concierge medicine. In this case, I'm trying to schedule a test I paid for a few months ago that I don't seem to have access for scheduling. So not getting back to me for something I paid doesn't feel good.
