The biological age pronouncement seems…
The biological age pronouncement seems hokey. Mine went up by 7 years with no explanation. I am beginning to think Function is most concerned about selling more tests than anything else. Who can yiu trust these days?

I paid extra for the MTHRF gene test…
I paid extra for the MTHRF gene test and all it taught me is that I’m positive. That gives me no information about what that means. Also I’m still waiting for more results.

I expected for results to show optimal…
I expected for results to show optimal range and not just the standard range. And that core ration is for all results and not just the out of range ones. I also expected summary to include how to achieve optimal range when I wasn’t within it.

You get what you pay for, unless it's for medical care..
I thought that the membership fee would include a consult with a clinician.

Dashboard is useful, but follow up summary is slow
I like the dashboard and being able to see results and upload previous lab results. However, it took more than 6 weeks for my clinician note to be released, and that was only after I enquired twice about it. I also went to schedule my three month follow up, and the lab tests that I need repeated because I am out of range are going to cost extra, even though they were included in the initial round of testing.

Advice should target current issues
Advice should ask for what I'm having issues, (hair loss, lack of energy, declining clear sight, etc). I try to live a LCHF and diet advice needs to be for my lifestyle, not high carbs or vegetables that cause joint issues.

It was not clear about some of the tests that would be included. I was disappointed to find some I expected were not included.

Im a big fan of Function
Im a big fan of Function, or was initially. First set of tests very comprehensive, mid yr tests not so much. It is not super transparent the difference which is frustrating and disappointing. I paid extra for advanced lipid mid-yr testing and its very basic & does not include key markers like Apo(b) & Lp(a). You can pay $39 (ea) for those, but it's cheaper just to go to a lab on your own. There is more competition now in this mkt space, so it's important to compare the tests you receive for the cost(s) and focus on the value received. Clinician notes provided are ok, but truly AI for the most part. Not sure if I will renew or cancel & wait for Function to lower the price again. Very good tool if you wish to be proactive with your health, just know what you're getting.
