I used to love this site. I have recently listed 3 items and the website experience has been awful. Before, if someone replied to a post, it would be sent to your email to let you know. Now, not only fo you have yo keep checking it, you have to ho yo s sub folder within a folder to find messages. I found 3 messages I didn't know were there 2 weeks later! Not easy to use anymore. Gutted that the website is so awful now. Such a fab concept and I'd hate to see it go. Please get a new website developer. (Or get the old one back!)

The principle behind Freecycle is excellent but this new site is not. Unlike the old site, this is difficult to navigate, it is too busy, photos are hard to access, the reply option is unreliable. Basically for someone not techy it is so much more difficult than the previous straightforward site. I’ll have to use it as I applaud the Freecycle principles but it is a shame that we have lost the lovely simplicity and ease.

As I mentioned on a previous post,I had to re upload a picture on my item as for some reason one had just gone black . My post went through the moderator AGAIN (just for a picture??????) And that was three days ago . It still hasn't been re posted. This new site will kill free cycle. Why did the change it ??. How many bad reviews do you need to get before you realize you messed up .

Site redesign is a classic case of pointless feature creep without actually thinking about what users need or want. - Why on earth do items that are already taken still get displayed? Some sort of perverse "haha, you missed out, better check more frequently in the future!" mentality? - Why is there an internal messaging system? Email was good enough, more reliable and less effort. - A concise list of available items is better than a long, annoying to scroll through list of photos. Users are opportunistic, and being able to see what's available briefly and quickly is much more important than misguided aesthetic choices. If people want photos and further information they can click on a concise text listing. Overall this feels like a well meaning website designer wanted to help out, but spent more time thinking of features that would be fun to implement than on checking whether they fit the use case. Perhaps someone who works in UX could kindly set them straight. As it is, the new site design is likely to kill off Freecycle, and places like Freegle will take up the slack

If there aren't enough volunteer moderators to approve posts, within a timely manner, then local areas really shouldn't be allowed to have post approval turned on, thirteen hours on and I'm still waiting for my posts to be approved, after subsequently numbered posts have already been listed. It doesn't seem to be a queue, so much as a lucky dip.

When replying to a mail from a freecyle member, the message has to be typed into a box one line high. The reply cannot be formatted, and if you forget and hit "enter" to start a new line the unfinished message gets sent. Bring back the old version, much better.

New site is awful. I tried listing something 3 times, and it never was published. However, when I do a search for the item, I can see it. This new site is poorly designed and difficult to navigate. I will give up posting.

Cant see any benefit whatsoever in the new layout..takes forever to load, then after only a few hours worth of postings, it wont load anymore. Cant look at a specific item, then go back where you were, it reverts back to the beginning. it seems impossible to see any postings over a couple of days old..which is utterly useless, i had 2 items i wanted to email about, had to wait to get work schedule before answering ads so i would know when i was free...and now cant access them at all. I've emailed the site twice now and got back a polite message each time, similar to the responses given on here, to just give it time..but both versions were available for long enough to see the pitfalls...and if not then , its certainly been long enough to iron out any 'teething 'problems' since...i'll give it a few more days then give up...which would be a real shame, ive had some great stuff from the site, and handed on some great stuff too.
