AVOID AT ALL COSTS
**DO NOT TRY TO BRIBE CUSTOMERS TO KEEP ORDERS OPEN** Very rarely do I write reviews but this company deserves it. Unfortunately, not in a good way. Contacted the company to confirm lead times on a desk before ordering. They stated it would be DELIVERED in 3 weeks. No problem - order placed. The very next day the price of the desk dropped $1,000. Ok, no problem. They confirmed they'd offer a refund for the difference however it would need to be done the next day as the customer service team had left for the day. Here's where it goes south - in a hurry. The next morning I come back online to confirm the refund and not only has the price gone back up to the price I originally paid but the customer service rep told me a gift card could be issued if, LISTEN TO THIS, and only if I keep the order open and sign a docusign. Un-be-lievable. Never in my life have I had a retailer try and bribe me to keep an order open. Oh yeah - I was then also told the timeframe I was told before placing the order was way wrong. The desk would be back in stock in a few weeks however it will then take another 3-4 weeks for it to ship. All-in-all, I'd wouldn't see the desk for a couple months. Had they simply refunded the $1,000 I would have kept the order open and there wouldn't have been any issue. Still waiting to hear back on my refund after I requested the order be cancelled. Needless to say chargebacks will be filed immediately if I don't hear back. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS AND THANK ME LATER. I should have listened to all the other 1-star reviews. **update - TrustPilot has informed me F&S want more information. No problem, here's an update: After someone called me trying to negotiate my refund and upsell me a more expensive item to keep my order open (I declined), I was eventually sent a docusign. The docusign states I acknowledge shipment of the product from the manufacturer to F&S. Had I signed this ridiculous document (I refused), they would then be able to refuse a return per their cancellation policy as I would have, in writing, agreed that the item had shipped (it hasn't). Never in my life have I had to sign something to cancel an order. It's absurd and while I'm not a lawyer, I would imagine borderline illegal to withhold money until a customer agrees to your demands and signs their name to a legal document. The man I spoke to said (in an arrogant tone) - "it's standard procedure". Buddy - no it isn't. These people are fraudsters. They now tell me the refund will take up to 14 business days. Needless to say, I have filed a chargeback and the credit card company has already reversed the charge. It didn't take very long given the amount of evidence I possess. Now, you're out the revenue AND credit card processing fees. France & Son - your website is run on Shopify. I own and operate 3 businesses - all run on Shopify. There is absolutely zero reason to withhold my money for that long. Zero. All you need to do is go to my order and select cancel - that's literally all that needs to be done and I'll have my money back within 5 business days. 14 business days is an absurd amount of time for a refund to be processed. Additionally, and to this minute, the item I ordered is STILL listed as in stock on your website. Why not put it out of stock or, at the very least, mention backorder times as you did with me after you had my money in hand? You are trying to take advantage of people who don't know any better. It's pathetic.
