Really disappointed with Protection plan
I am posting this review to share my experience with Fortegra and the insurance claim process after my leather reclining sofa (Swansea Granite Power Reclining Sofa - GRANITE MNRM 41700-P-S GRANITE) was damaged. After discovering cuts on the leather and white spots across the console leather from spilled food and beverages, I filed Claim #2574031 with full documentation and photos. Throughout the process, I received inconsistent explanations regarding my claim One of my biggest concerns not clearly examine the damaged sofa with me. Despite this lack of technician inspection, my claim was later denied due to normal wear and tear damage which is really frustruatin. When I recently spoke with management, the claim history notes they read back to me did not match the information and photos of the cuts and stains I originally submitted. As a customer, it is extremely frustrating to provide clear evidence of damage, receive changing explanations, and ultimately face a denial.Based on my experience, I am deeply disappointed with how Fortegra and their insurance partners handled this claim.

We appreciate you taking the time to share the details of your experience.
Our records show that your furniture was purchased from Rooms To Go on 12/07/2023 along with a 3 year Service Agreement. On 05/18/2026, a claim was submitted for your storage console and dual power right arm facing recliner, including concerns with the USB ports, white spots on the console, intermittent reclining issues, and a tear in the recliner’s fabric. A technician was sent to your home to complete an inspection so we could better understand what was happening.
Based on the technician’s report, the USB issue on the console was not caused by a manufacturing defect, and in addition to the white spots, several other stains were noted. For the recliner, the technician did not find an electrical malfunction, and the fabric tear appeared to be the result of the recliner rubbing against the wall over time.
Your Service Agreement provides coverage for manufacturing defects and accidental damage that occurs from a single incident. It does not extend to issues caused by repeated wear, accumulated staining, or damage that develops over time.
Because the technician’s findings did not indicate a manufacturing defect or a covered accidental incident, the claim is not eligible for coverage under the terms of the Agreement.
We understand this may not be the outcome you were hoping for, and we truly appreciate the time you took to share these concerns with us. The claim has been fully reviewed in line with the technician’s findings and the terms of the Service Agreement, and while no further information is needed at this time, we do value your feedback and the opportunity to assist.

CLAIM #030028 DENIED
I am posting this review to share my experience with CubeSmart and the insurance claim process associated with my storage unit.
After discovering damage to my stored property, I filed Claim #030028 and provided documentation, photographs, and supporting information. Throughout the process, I was given inconsistent explanations regarding my claim. I was advised that the insurance coverage was connected to Ameritas, and later told that Ameritas no longer handled CubeSmart-related coverage and that Fortegra was involved in the claims process.
One of my biggest concerns is that when I moved out of the storage unit, no CubeSmart employee or representative was present to inspect, document, or examine the alleged damage with me. Despite this, I was later informed that there was insufficient proof of damage from the storage facility.
When I recently spoke with management and reviewed the history of the claim, the notes being read back to me did not match the information and documentation I recall submitting from the beginning. I have maintained records of emails, photographs, claim submissions, and communications throughout this process.
As a customer, it is extremely frustrating to provide documentation, receive changing explanations, and then have a claim denied.
My advice to anyone renting from CubeSmart: document everything, take extensive photos and videos before moving in and before moving out, keep copies of all emails and claim submissions, and do not assume that someone from the facility will inspect or document damage on your behalf.
Based on my experience, I am very disappointed with how this claim was handled.

slibují jen při podpisu smlouvy ale pak mají samé výjímky. A nahlášení škody je problém. Není to bohužel jediná negativní zkušenost

Would not recommend!
I bought a couch set at Rooms to Go and bought the extended warranty with Fortegra. One month into having my couch springs started to make noise, called the warranty and was denied because nothing was visibly wrong with it. One year has passed and the springs continue to make noise, called again got denied for the second time because it was “normal” for couches to make noise. Broken or damaged springs are covered in my warranty. They just don’t want to replace or even fix the problem. Very disappointing and frustrating.
Response from FortegraMay 19, 2026
Our records show that you purchased your furniture and Service Agreement on 04/12/2025. On 04/27/2026, a claim was filed for your loveseat and chaise due to noise when sitting. A technician was dispatched through Rooms To Go to inspect the issue.
The technician confirmed that while the pieces make noise, there are no breaks in the frame and all springs are attached and functioning within manufacturer standards.
Under the terms of your Service Agreement, noise and squeaks are not covered. Coverage applies only to specific manufacturing defects such as warping, cracking, breaking, or separation of the frame, as well as the breaking or bending of mechanisms, springs, or coils.
Because the technician found no covered defects, the claim is denied in accordance with the Service Agreement.
We understand this is not the outcome you were hoping for, and we appreciate you giving us the opportunity to fully review your claim.

Great service !
I actually did not think I was going to be writing this review after seeing all the horrible reviews prior to me submitting a claim.
Long story short my couch springs snapped and my couch was no longer being manufactured per my contract they needed to supply me with a reaccredit for a new couch. As I said I had very low hopes after reading reviews but to my surprise customer service was very helpful and the supervisor was great! within a week they issued me my recredit and I was able to get a whole new couch ! I made sure to repurchase the warranty !
