The captain and mate on the Balihoo in Cancun were absolutely amazing. The boat was clean and rods and reels worked great. We had fish on and tight lines from 10 minutes into our trip until the end. We even had several double hook ups. They made every minute count, and talked us through every catch. We had fabulous experience. Chris and Debbie May 2026

Book a trip with a captain in Costa Rica. After trying to reach the captain with questions for 2 months with no response, I wanted to cancel the reservation as we did not feel comfortable proceeding with the reservation as we did not know what time or where to meet the captain since we were planning our trip. I attempted to cancel the reservation and Fishing Booker said I violated the captains deposit return policy even though the captain never contacted me. They are a scam, avoid.

We're very sorry to hear about your experience, and we understand how frustrating it must have been to go so long without a response from the captain while trying to plan your trip. We'd like to look into exactly what happened with your reservation and the deposit so we can review it fairly and make things right where we can. To do that, we'll need to locate your booking on our end. When you have a moment, please reach out to us at [email protected] with the name or email address used for the reservation, and our team will be happy to investigate the details with you directly. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we truly apologize for the inconvenience you experienced.

No hassle. Easy to use. Was able to directly communicate with the captian about the local current weather conditions and updates. Will absolutely use Fishing Booker for all my future fishing trips that I need a guide for!

Customer wants to cancel, violating policy. But the only options were to deny or accept, no middle . I don’t want to steal a persons money, but there should be some compensation for a cancellation besides all or nothing

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We completely understand your point, and we agree that finding a fair solution for both parties is important. We'd also like to highlight that you're always welcome to reach out to our Support team whenever a situation like this comes up. Simply let us know how you'd like to resolve the cancellation and what you believe would be a fair way to divide the funds between you and the customer. Our team will be happy to review the situation, explore the available options, and help you find the best possible solution. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Feedback like yours helps us understand where we can make things clearer and better for everyone. Thank you again!

We ( me and the wife) have been using fishingbooker for 20 years and haven’t had a bad experience. The reviews are mostly helpful but the details about the boat and crew are the ticket to a successful and great experience. Our first time using FB was 20 years ago in Cozumel. We loaded up with dorado, caught a huge barracuda and a bonito. The mate fillet a couple for us and dropped us off at a restaurant for a cook your catch. Now, how can you beat that for a romantic vacation? We just finished a trip in Islamorada FL and loaded to boat up with Chelsea Charters. Captain Drudi and Mate Zach provided our best experience thus far.

Easy to choose a captain and boat. Lots of info about the captain, boat size, and max number of people. Very clear on total cost and accepted methods of payment. Received reminders of when and where.
