Poor and confusing information
Communication between Red Door Charter and Fishing booker was poor. After I made the initial reservation I had to change it to one two days earlier. I confirmed it with Red Door. Fishing booker and Red door kept both reservations just two days apart. Even after a second phone conversation with Red Door to straighten things out. The information provided by Fishing Booker in preparation for the charter was incorrect on the time of departure and what was provided. FishingBooker said 6:30 am and Red door said 6:00AM. Fishing booker said drinks would be provided and Red Door said no drinks were provided. When I asked about the discrepancy Red door told me to just ignore FishingBooker. I got follow up texts and emails reminding me of the original reservation even though it had been cancelled.

Hello Dan, thank you for your review. We're very sorry that your fishing experience turned out this way. Please let us try to explain what happened. To make sure customers and captains are aware of their upcoming trips, we rely on an established system of app notifications, text messages and emails. We send these reminders to both you and the captain for every upcoming trip, always sharing the booking details as they're written in our system. This means that, if you booked a trip for August 6, our system will send you booking reminders for August 6. However, we know that plans can change, which is why we made rescheduling and changing other trip details possible through your FishingBooker profile. We encourage making booking changes this way, because that’s how we can make sure that the reminders we send you are up to date. When a reschedule is requested, we send notifications to both customers and captains, followed by an update as soon as the request is replied to. In your case, I'm afraid, you and the captain agreed to reschedule for August 8 only verbally and through texts. This meant that our system had no way of knowing that your booking changed. While we try to make our reschedule options visible in our emails and your profile, it's completely reasonable for you not to have noticed them. Unfortunately, we weren't notified about the change by Red Door Charters either, which caused your trip to remain booked for August 6. As you rightly pointed out, your charter operator’s listing did show incorrect information about the trip start time and its amenities. We know how disruptive this can be, especially when you’re travelling, and we are truly sorry about this. We've taken the matter up with Red Door Charters, and they will now update the listing in question. We realize that an updated listing means little when you've already gone on your trip. That’s why we’ve credited your account with a small token of apology. Should you decide to book with us again, feel free to use this towards your next trip. Thank you once again for sharing your experience, Dan. All the best from FishingBooker.
