I have used this site for many years. It is clear from reviews that many simply don't know how to use it to their advantage. Yes, it's annoying if somebody makes changes, but they just might be right. Keep a copy of your own research separate or use a collaborative programme like Rootsmagic. It's worth it to get all the free access to millions of records. Make sure to check the blue hints which is where you get freebies.

I started using FamilySearch several years ago & it was good but now it's a disaster. I'll put details in. Name, country, birth year etc. & names, places & years come up that don't the fit in any way, another continent, another century, a death when I want a birth. Added to that If you add your family tree anbody can change it, therefore someone who presumably hasn't a clue about researching can alter my details. Today I found such a confused mess that it'll take hours to correct so I've decided that I'm not going to use it anymore. I have researched my familymeticulously for 35 years & spent a considerable amount of money so it's so annoying. I'd like to delete the entire tree but I can't so my advice is not to go anywhere near FamilySearch.

Prity poor when tested Started with my father's details. Found his parents and his wife my mother. Showing my mother as deceased which she wasn't pleased about and no further details.

Its terrible and not user friendly at all. Building your tree is impossible. I can find my family members, but when I try to add them it creates a new person? Why? I told you who they were. isn't the whole purpose of the site to build a family tree? Good luck with that.

Seit < 2001 arbeite ich mit FamilySearch (die damals zur Programm-Installation notwendige Diskette habe ich noch 😁). Der Zugriff auf die vorhandene Datensammlung und auf die alten Kirchenbücher meiner gewünschten Regionen unterstützen mich bei der Suche nach meiner Verwandtschaft sehr. Die Bedienung und eigene Dateneintragung bei der Online-Version ist einfach. Auch für Anfänger geeignet. Die Familienstammbaum Android-App erlaubt eine Weiterbearbeitung/Übersicht der eigenen vorhandenen Ahnen-Daten. Sehr praktisch.

if there was a mark lower than this i would give it, its the worst site ever, nothing is correct, they join people from hampshire to people in cheshire and worse, totally wrong
