The App and Website are useless. By the time I get a notification of medications being processes, it's too late to change the delivery date. The App and Website don't allow many changes and this results in having to call customer service. The representatives can't help much at all and most cases you need to hold for a manager. Most cases if a medication processing is cancelled, you need to contact your doctor to reissue the script.

COMPLAINED TO STATE INSURANCE COMMISSIONER
Express Scripts routinely delays life essential prescriptions, even with valid Rx and PA, for weeks, based on nothing. This pattern of behavior by Express Scripts causes life threatening gaps in care.
Because this is such a recurring problem i have filed a complaint with my state insurance oversight board. I encourage everyone else here to contact your state’s OIC (office of insurance commissioner) and file complaints too. We deserve better from our pharmacies and PBMs.

My employer's health plan insurance- ExpressScripts is TERRIBLE - Do Not Use ExpressScripts
My employer's health plan insurance, Blue-Cross/Blue Shield's "HIghmark"- yet another dismal experience and review on its review page of which we purchase the "Premium" healthcare coverge and pay more accordingly for it - pnly offers ExpressScripts for its drug/presription coverage, which is an absolute joke with co-pay pricing being at least double the price than most or any of the discount programs available such as GoodRx and any other discount program that one can Google and shop. Then there's the Fact that any of whatever prescription drug that ExpressSripts determine, by their own discretion apparently since any other prescription service has never considered a couple of our prescription to be a "Specialty" prescriptions per ExpressScript's "Accredo" subsidiary and their guru's reviews that declined to even fill the prescription let alone to cover it via our overpaid for prescription insurance coverage and copay of such. They literally informed us that after Accredo's "review" that we did not need the prescription and therefore would not cover it.. and mind you all that we had and have been using these couple of prescriptions for nearly a decade with no "reviews" of coverage by any other prescription providers.- it was simply covered under the plan and filled and co-paid with no issues, questions or problems. Ever. So- advice to never use ExpressScripts for anything would be Highly advised. Go anywhere- elsewhere. google around and compare the many discount programs and save your hard-earned money - Do Not Use ExpressScripts. They are Terrible and even google their issues with legal trouble - even in regard to the US Congress and gov they have legal issues due to their fleecing and gouging millions of people and insurances.

Horrible pharmacy
I have lost track of how many hours I have spent on the phone with this pharmacy trying to resolve basic issues that should not be this difficult. The prior authorization and refill process has been always a nightmare. My doctor submitted refills for a full year, yet every time I place an order, the pharmacy asks for another prescription. Multiple times I was told that they contacted my doctor’s office and were waiting to hear back, only for the doctor’s office to confirm they never received anything. This has happened with more than one doctor’s office, so it is clearly not just an issue on the provider side. Orders are consistently delayed, and this is not a minor inconvenience. This is medication that I depend on, and Im repeatedly left worrying that I will run out because of processing delays, poor communication, and unresolved errors.
Another major issue happened recently when the manufacturer changed the drug code. Instead of identifying the issue, clarifying it with the doctor, or notifying me, the pharmacy let the prescription sit for about two weeks and then canceled the order. This happened twice within about 1.5 months. I had to make repeated calls and eventually arrange a 3-way call with the manufacturer rep and express scripts pharmacist to explain the issue. Even after that, when everything seemed to be clarified, the pharmacy canceled the order again. The only reason I continue using this pharmacy is because it is the preferred pharmacy through Cigna, which is technically the same company. Otherwise, I would have switched a long time ago.

Nightmare
Nightmare, truly. I spend more time on the phone with them than I do my sister. Simple $12 scrip for anti nausea meds they’ve filled for years? Needs pre-approval now, countless calls and emails between them and doctor’s office. Just as cheap and far easier to use my GoodRX coupon at CVS with no BS. Doctor wanted in increase another med, 20 mg to 30 mg. It only comes in 10 or 20 so they phone in a 10 mg which Express Scrips immediately cancels because I already take a 20mg. No call to doctor, they just cancel it. Back and forth with doctor, who calls them and clarifies all of it. They have no record anyone spoke to her. Another two hours on phone. Do not use them, life is too short to spend hours on phone with them and your doctor.

Express Scripts Incompetent Pharmacy
I’m a senior superintendent for a huge company that pays millions a month for our insurance. I just had United Health with the last company I worked with, I had no problems with them mailing a controlled medication to me. On Friday afternoon I go to my doctor and told him I was traveling for this new company so I was going to try their Express Scripts. To my surprise, they refused to fill or mail my sleep apnea medication, this is gotten ridiculous. Once my company finds out that I will need to drive home three times a month to pick up my medications and neglect the job, I’m sure they’re not going to be happy with Cigna. This is a must for a traveling superintendent. I plan on contacting our VP Monday morning so I will follow up once I find out the outcome. If Express Scripts is willing to cost Cigna millions a month, they deserve it to put up with that nonsense. These uneducated Pharmacist need to realize, everyone isn’t a drug addict because they have to take controlled medication. This issue has gotten people beyond mad, I wouldn’t want be a Pharmacist these days with all these wacos in this world.
