I signed up to Every Mother after having my baby, it was a years subscription, however after my subscription ended I noticed they had took another payment with no warning.
I have contracted Every Mother and they have now offered me a full refund and I hope they will now take my advice to give members warning before renewing the subscription, or even send them a receipt so they know that the money has been taken as I’m sure there are many they haven’t noticed money being taken from their accounts.

This is my third time trying Every…
This is my third time trying Every Mother’s program. I spent four months seeing a Physical Therapist who specializes in pelvic and core health prior to this third try which has helped me understand how to do the core compressions in EM’s program correctly. I am just doing the core compressions and not all of the exercise videos. The exercise videos are boring without fun music or personality. I have been doing my own exercise routine instead.

SUPER Frustrating Workouts
As of posting this review, I'm 36-weeks pregnant (and my baby is measuring big!). I began using Every Mother a few weeks ago in hopes it'd help me prevent/heal any pelvic floor issues I might encounter, as well as ab separation.
I have enjoyed the breathing exercises and think they are helping me prepare for labor and post partum. But I won't know for sure until I get to that point.
My biggest complaint is the workouts. I've been exercising my entire pregnancy (spin, aerobics, and weight lifting), so I'm in decent shape overall. But, wow. EM's workouts have been almost laughable. The instructors don't consider that many of us are lugging around a big belly. They act like we're either still in our first trimester or not pregnant at all. The pace is ridiculously fast, there's only a second or two for transitions between moves, and there aren't any modifications offered for harder moves/positions (especially when you're dealing with a big belly and literally can't move certain ways anymore). The instructors also don't talk about safety regarding exertion or cardiac output. At the pace they move, I'd easily ramp up my heart rate to 150+ and probably faint. Plus, I'm not confident every move is safe for pregnancy. There are some that require twisting and that's a big no-no according to doctors and other fitness instructors I've talked to.
The pacing with the breathing exercises can also frustrate me. For example, when we're in the fetal position and have to switch swides, we get about 3-5 seconds to SAFELY reposition ourselves. Ha! I miss the first round or two on the opposite side because I can't move that fast. It's physically impossible.
All in all, I wish EM would think about their pacing more. Most of us aren't able to move like we did before pregnancy (or in our first trimester). And I wish they'd be more encouraging and remind us it's ok to go slower/adjust if we can't do certain moves anymore. Listening to our bodies and doing what's safe is more important than scorching calories.
I'll keep doing the breathing exercises, but I've given up on the workouts. There are prenatal ones on YouTube that work a thousand times better (and don't make me feel like an absolute failure every time). (Thank you Bodyfit by Amy for being a perfect instructor for any woman at any phase in life!)

Thank you for the review, Jenna. We are very happy to hear that you are finding the Core & Pelvic Floor exercises to be helpful in preparing for birth. We can assure you that the workouts found within our prenatal Prepare Program follow ACOG guidelines for exercise during pregnancy and are endorsed by OB/GYNs. We always encourage you to go at your own pace and believe that quality of movement is more important than quantity of reps. Sorry that this is not coming through in the videos! We are always available if you have any questions regarding the exercises or modifications at [email protected].

mixed feelings
Pros:
Workouts vary, good quality and clearly thought through.
There are lots of useful videos about how things work with pelvic floor. core and so on.
If you workout consistently you are likely to get more toned muscles and might lose an inch ot two in midsection over initial 84 days.
Pelvic floor related symptoms are likely to improve rather noticeably.
Cons:
Village (basically internal forum) is sluggish and there were technical issues.
Admin clearly uses scripts and not always answers the question asked.
If you really dig into clinical trial data about efficiency of the program you realize that data quality is not great and 12-week will help, but will not resolve DR unless it's very minimal and you are very lucky. 24 weeks is a maybe. So take "it's never late to close your DR" promise with a large grain of salt.
Funny
Yoga instructor got me at "blossoming through your anus". I believe you need to practice yoga for a really long time to say something like this with a straight face.

Thank you for the thoughtful review, Vika. We have many exciting things in the works to address your "cons" list. That said, it truly is never too late to address diastasis recti through exercise. It is correct that a more severe separation (whether in width or depth) may take longer to resolve than 12 weeks, however, it is very possible to strengthen the connective tissue decades beyond giving birth.

I love the app BUT…
I love the app. But I do think it’s overly priced. And I hesitated to renew it this past year. There are only so many exercises that are just repeated in a different order for a different day.
Response from Every MotherJul 5, 2023
Thank you for the review! We do understand that the foundational exercises can begin to feel repetitive over time. That said, they are clinically proven to resolve diastasis recti. We have found that the structure of the prescriptive exercise paths within the app keep things effective and efficient taking the guesswork out of daily exercises. We love to hear that you are loving the app. The Every Mother team

Feel like so far going from one day to the next it's not a connected program that I'm doing. I wish it was more that they took day one and then lead into day 2 etc. I just did a day 4 of a program and was like where did this stuff come from

6 months pregnant
I’m 6 months pregnant and have been using the program for 3 months. I use breathing exercises and the guided paths but it doesn’t feel like I’m getting much of a workout. Maybe I’m just used to higher intensity.

Hi Tina, we are happy that you have been following your guided Path. We have many tips to help increase your intensity. Feel free to reach out in the EM Village or send an email to [email protected]. We're here to help!

Good, but I was hoping for more progress after a year
The program is helpful in giving me specific exercises to do every day, which keeps me working on trying to repair my diastasis. Unfortunately I haven’t seen the results I would have liked, and possibly some of my related postpartum issues may have worsened while doing this program. There is a lot of helpful information, which is great. One thing I’d like to see is more instruction on how to safely perform more everyday movements. As someone with a slightly more severe ab separation as well as pelvic prolapse and a peri umbilical hernia, there are so many things I do throughout the day, such as lifting a toddler in and out of a car seat, dealing with heavy kids throwing tantrums and struggling, or even shovelling snow, that may be causing damage though I try to be mindful.

Thank you for your review. Please be sure to check out the Foundations library to view all of our educational videos. We have videos about pelvic prolapse along with everyday movements that will be helpful. It can take some time to fully resolve a severe separation. You are doing a fantastic job working on this while doing "all the things"! Keep it up. We are always here to cheer you on in the EM Village.
