Hi Canitha,
We're sorry to hear that your housing accommodation request was not approved, and we understand how frustrating that can be.
As previously discussed, your refund has already been processed. While our licensed mental health professionals provide documentation based on their clinical judgment, an ESA letter cannot guarantee that a housing provider will approve a reasonable accommodation request. Housing providers may evaluate each request individually and, in some cases, request additional information before making a decision.
We appreciate you giving ESAPet the opportunity to assist you and wish you the very best moving forward.

Hi Yvette,
We’re sorry to hear you’re having trouble accessing your letter, and we definitely want to clear this up for you.
Your ESA letter was uploaded by your therapist on February 4th and has been available in your client portal since that date. We’ve also been in regular communication with you throughout this process to make sure everything was moving smoothly.
On February 10th, I sent a follow-up email offering assistance with your portal password, even though our system showed that the password had already been reset successfully on your end. We did not receive a response to that message, so we were waiting to hear back from you in case you still needed help accessing your account.
If you are still having trouble logging in, please reply directly to our support email and we will immediately assist you with access. We’re here to help and want to make sure you receive your documentation without any further delays.
It is important to note that we do not send physical letters, and we also do not advertise this. If you saw it in our site, please let us know and we will be glad to honor it.
Looking forward to resolving this for you quickly.

Seems Unreliable…
I paid for the letter and nobody reached out to me for a full week. I only got somewhat answered once I called the customer service number and left a voicemail voicing my concern. The email response I was given was that a therapist had tried to call me the previous day and left a voicemail. I never recieved any missed call and zero voicemails. Right before I recived the email from ESA customer serivce, the number I left a complaint with called me for one single ring and then hung up before I could even anser it. I tried to call back later that day multiple times, but only got the voicemail. I eventually got an email back that she was sorry to miss my call, and that she was in a meeting. I almost immediately called back and...voicemail again. Very disappointed. I just want my money back. I have requested a refund so we'll see if they can make that happen for me.
Edit: They refunded me my money.

No NPI or verifiable License number for clinician.
When applying for a property rental I was asked for a National Provider Identifier number (NPI) which I was unable to provide. Apparently they were unable to verify the clinician's license number. This seems like a major oversight, as it potentially makes this letter useless and I paid $150 for it.
The experience of merely obtaining the letter was okay, but I'm a bit concerned about the ESAPETS branding all over the housing letter. It doesn't seem to serve any marketing purpose, and probably only causes property managers to question it. I'd rather have a clean white letter.

Hi James,
I'm Marie, the Operations and Customer Service Manager at ESAPet. I'm sorry to hear about the issues you've experienced with your ESA letter. We strive to provide the best possible service, and I appreciate your feedback.
Regarding the National Provider Identifier (NPI) number, while our licensed clinicians adhere to all state regulations, some property managers may have unique requirements. I'd like to understand more about your situation to help resolve this. Could you please reach out to me directly at [email protected] so we can discuss this further?
As for the branding on the letter, your feedback is valuable. If you'd prefer a cleaner version without branding, we can provide that for you.
Thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention. We're here to help and ensure you have a positive experience with ESAPet.
Best regards,
Marie Pietri

Run away as fast as you can. These people are ripoffs.
So I thought $199 for each of my two dogs was expensive, but I thought OK they reach out to a they talk to you what could be better than that. As it turns out I had to call them. A woman answered the telephone and said that somebody will call me by the end of the evening. No phone calls came in. The next day, now it’s Tuesday. I had to call them back again. At the woman said oh I’m very sorry we had a problem with the lady that was going to call you. Don will be calling you instead. Well as it turned out, Darren did call me. We spoke a little bit. He told me his mom and dad live in my area in Florida. I told him I’m moving into a community that does not accept dogs, this is why I need the letters, and it must have a Florida address on it. The letters finally came in my email with the California heading. Now that doesn’t look like it came off the Internet. I don’t know what does then. I could not use the letters. I asked for my money back, you will have to speak to Ruth he said. Ruth called me and said this is the way it is and we cannot give you your money back. I just lost my husband, I don’t have the money, and if they do not give me my money back, I am going to complain to the ADA, and whoever else needs to know that these people are giving out fake letters for $200 per dog.

Truly awful experience
My experience with esapet was truly awful. I ordered two letters but the very next day settled on housing that didn't require them, so I sent an email requesting a refund. According to their website, you're entitled to a refund if you ask for it before being contacted by a Healthcare professional, so I was eligible. They did not respond for 2 weeks, so I sent another courtesy email following up, and told them that if I didn't hear anything I would have to go to my bank instead. They finally responded, but claimed they had no record of my request and that since I had been called by a Healthcare professional on July 12 that I was not eligible for a refund. The thing is, all they had to do was scroll down to see my original refund request on July 11. I told them so, but received no response after that, so I had to go to my bank and file a dispute. After that, they were extremely communicative, although difficult. They continuously tried to get me to drop the dispute, which I continously told them I could do after they refunded me per their refund policy. In the end, I gave in to the stress this situation was causing me, and I dropped the dispute, in good faith toward their promise to refund me afterwards. But, guess what? They did not refund me. They claimed that they decided to accept the dispute (just days after I told them I had already dropped it), but I called Chase several times over many weeks and Chase made it clear every single time that they had received no such acceptance and that I would not be receiving the money back. So, basically, it looks like I got played. They have a very clear refund policy that they did not honor and I am out $179 with nothing to show for it. I could never recommend this company to anyone.
EDIT: They did end up refunding me after seeing this review. Their reply states that they refunded me "some time ago" which is not correct, they refunded me the day after I posted this review. Though I appreciate the refund, that reply makes me feel again that integrity is not a priority with this business, so I'll be leaving my rating as is.
