Overall experience was no better than average. The fact that there is no one you can contact by phone. Response to chat messages may take few business days while you are offered to accept deal as soon as you can and or make payment before certain due date and should you have any questions you may miss your deadline

Deal are great, I’d you have to ask a question no one answers 800 number and it takes days for them to respond to an email. Customer service is no good

The process is slow, and fee is high.

* Customer communication and ease of company contact: 1. The phone number listed on EquityZen's website is never personally answered. A caller will always only be able to leave a voicemail, which is NEVER responded to. 2. Using the Intercom-powered AI chatbot, the user sees a message stating, "Ask for the team if needed". I typed "team" and before entering my question, the chat window showed "You’ll get replies here and in your email: ✉️ xxxxx Our usual reply time 🕒 2 days". In other words, EquityZen is a bit dodgy with which to entrust your money. * Clarity of Express Deal investments: When I made an investment via an Express Deal, I did not see anything that stated that in order to be able to sell my investment, it would need to be at least 2% of the fund value. Later, after trying to initiate an "exit" through the EquityZen website, I discovered this. Now, there is no way for me to buy enough to reach that 2% level after my initial investment. It's not clear from anything on their website that I could buy to 2% even if I had the money. So, there is no apparent future date when I will ever be able to get my money back, unless the company invested in has an IPO.

Better and more frequent communication. Greater availability from support staff.

It is a good platform and has many merits. My concern is that fund managers tend to join tender offers rather than reject them, meaning that your shares will be sold before its full growth (e.g., by going public or being acquired). In my experience, fund managers decided to join a tender offer for shares I held already more than 2 years. About 6 to 10 months later (I cannot remember exactly how many months), I was notified that fund managers are considering to join another tender offer. If you are an investor seeking a high-risk-high-return opportunity in unlisted company, this platform may not align with your expectation.

Process was relatively easy and straightforward for 1st time private equity investors. Hopefully the exit will be just as straightforward. I'll update to 5 stars if the exit is streamlined and obtain my investment return.

No way to contact to discuss before an investment. Doesn't allow selling less than 2%.
