My system shuts off the breaker outside…
My system shuts off the breaker outside 2 to 4 times a day electric company said no surges. Everything‘s fine and phase says contact your installer with ADT is out of business then they said if it gets too hot, it can shut down well I hate to tell them, but it’s a desert that’s why I have solar stay away from this company as their products fail constantly and don’t buy their generators because they can’t get there product on the solar panels to work. How the heck is their generator gonna work?
Response from Enphase EnergyAug 7, 2025
Hello Paul,
We’re truly sorry to hear about the ongoing issues you’ve been experiencing with your system, and we understand how frustrating and disruptive this must be.
We also understand how difficult it can be to get help when the original installer is no longer in business. This is certainly not the level of service or reliability we aim to provide, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
High temperatures can indeed contribute to system shutdowns as a built-in safety measure. However, if this has been a recurring issue, another possible cause could be improper breaker sizing or a faulty breaker, which can result in frequent tripping, regardless of power surges or utility feedback.
Also, for clarification: Enphase does not manufacture or sell generators. Our portfolio includes microinverters, battery storage systems, EV chargers, and system monitoring solutions—we do not provide generator products.
If even after changing the breakers the issue persists, please reach out to us directly at [email protected], and be sure to include your system or Site ID so our team can review your system’s behavior in detail.
Thank you for your honest feedback—we take it seriously and are committed to using it to improve both our products and our customer support experience.

High expectation, low reality
Purchased our home with a 45 panel ground-based array. The transfer of ownership was expensive but happened fairly quickly. Ever since then, the experience of ownership hasn't been great. My gateway would constantly drop out back when it was a 4g module based unit. Since 4g was going away, Enphase paid for the switchover to wifi. I have a strong wifi system around 100ft from the Envoy panel and the unit constantly drops communications. I got so bad that I was having to go through arduous reconnection process on a weekly basis, so out of frustration, I finally just said to hell with it and let it stay disconnected. After around a year I finally went and reconnected it and since then, once again, have had nothing but issues with the connection. Reporting wonky figures, disconnecting, etc. It once again disconnected today and after calling them, they walked me through the reset process (again for me) and reconnection process (I have it memorized) and still no success. Naturally, the warranty is gone on the unit so of course, I'll be on the hook to replace it. I'll say this much...the service provided does NOT equal the monetary outlay and I'll likely be looking for another provider (if that is even possible).

Enlighten app stopped allowing me to…
Enlighten app stopped allowing me to control the gateway. Now the system takes me off the grid at random. After chat botting with Enlighten tech suppport over a two day/night exchange, I was finally told the app is having an issue. I will receive a status update nin 3 to 4 days. in the meantime, I have to chat to have a tech change the profile status EVRY TIME. 32k out of pocket for this

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused, especially given your significant investment in the system. We understand how frustrating it must be to lose gateway control through the Enphase app and to need repeated manual intervention.
Our technical team is actively working on streamlining the profile management feature to prevent this from happening. In the meantime, if you’re still facing issues, please reach out to us at [email protected] with your Site ID. Our team will prioritize your case and work to resolve it as quickly as possible.

Enlighten App so poor
The Enlighten app has never worked properly since my installation 4 months ago. Live status rarely works and energy data a couple of times a day.
I've had many interactions with Enphase support who acknowledge an intermittent issue but nothing has been resolved and now they have disappeared.
One email from them suggested damage could be caused due to lack of back end connectivity, which I don't know the status of.
Poor.

This is a nightmare
This is a nightmare. It took a month to get this system working after initial install. During that month i racked up over $8000 in hidden charges to get this system working. Then the electrician disappeared and left me with only half my house connected to the solar in the first place. I've been getting by with extension cords until about 2 months after install i go out and find moubting bolts for the panels on the ground. I call the installer i overpaid to fix it since its only been 2 freaking months. Then the guy bills me $200 but says im getting a $175 discount because of the vanishing electician. So i got billed $400 for him to fix something he installed that fell apart in 2 months. While i was still seething about that and deciding whether i should block that charge through my credit card the whole system started blinking off about 15 times a day. 15 times a day my 3d printer fails, my wifi disconnects, and i lose whatever file is open on my computer. 15 times a day. Im more than angry at this point. $48000 nightmare.

Not possible to recommend buying products from this company in Denmark.
After seeing the specifications of their solar system on the danish Enphase web site I decided to buy the products late 2024.
But just after installation it became clear that Enphase does not deliver anything near what they promises on their web site. Acoording to the specifications on the web site, the system should provide features to store and sell energy on demand, provide user selectable usage of batteries and provide backup in case of grid down.
None of above are possible. Enphase basically do not deliver anything of what they promises on their web site.
The system do produce power and yes it do store energy in the batteries but its uncontrollable by the customer(me) and worse you can’t switch it off unless physically on the main switch board.
The system should be fully manageable by the App.. But that not correct, the App is for show off and contains no means to manage any part of the system. The options to manage the system by other means are like HomeAssistant are not embraced by Enphase and it seems as they are not interested in users using anything but the App.
Up to now my installer and I have tried for the last 6 months to get Enphase to deliver what they promises and to at least provide correct information about the installation in the App, that have not happened and in Denmark the conclusion must be that Enphase can’t provide the products as promised and also Enphase can’t provide support to installers or customers.

Dear Flemming,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re truly sorry to hear about your frustration, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few important points.
🔹 Backup Functionality
Enphase systems do support backup functionality when installed with the IQ System Controller 3 (or earlier compatible models). This controller is essential for enabling backup, as it automatically detects grid outages and transitions the system to off-grid operation.
Please note that backup systems are not currently available in Denmark, which is why this feature is not reflected on our Danish website. For reference, you can explore our product information here.
🔹 System Configuration
If your system includes only IQ Battery R2 units, the system does not support backup functionality, and this limitation is in line with the product descriptions currently available for Denmark. The newer IQ Battery 5P (R3), combined with the IQ System Controller, can enable backup in supported markets.
🔹 Battery Management & App Features
While we currently do not offer official integration with third-party platforms like Home Assistant (due to regulatory limitations in Europe), the Enphase App provides full management of your battery system, including self-consumption settings, export control, and performance optimization. This is also applicable to the IQ Battery R2.
We understand this may not have been clear during your purchase, and we sincerely apologize for any miscommunication. If you’d like, we are happy to review your system configuration with you and explore any potential improvements.
📞 Feel free to reach us at +45 78714788 or let us know a convenient time for a call.
Thank you again for your feedback — we remain committed to improving our communication and supporting our customers in Denmark.

WILL NOT HONOR THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS
Will not guarantee their monitoring system will work AND NO RETURN POLICY Shitty customer suppor
I have had a 10 year old residential solar system. The system has 38 panels each with Enphase M250 inverters. The last year has been a nightmare with Enphase inability to monitor the production. There solution is to purchase the new monitoring system for $608 plus labor with no guarantee this will solve the problem. There support team 5 stars has been very responsive however it the same old reply.
I would certainly consider other inverter companies
Response from Enphase EnergyMay 28, 2025
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the monitoring system. This can happen due to poor communication between the microinverters and the Gateway, which can be resolved swiftly by replacing it.
