Hi Mary, Because we have decided to stay completely natural, and prioritise the integrity of the plant over including any additives or preservatives, our oils do have a very unique flavour and smell. Your suggestions are both great. High quality peppermint oil or any other food grade essential oil will take care of this very well. For the flavour, we suggest using organic honey when taking your oil. adding oil to the honey and placing it beneath her tongue will help mitigate the flavour quite effectively.
