La misurazione dinamica è la concentrazione di glucosio nel liquido interstiziale del tessuto del derma, mentre il Finger blood analizza la concentrazione di glucosio di una miscela di sangue capillare e liquido interstiziale. Anche i valori di glucosio misurati dai capillari in diverse parti del corpo possono variare. In secondo luogo, a causa della diversa velocità di diffusione del glucosio nel sangue di ciascun individuo, i risultati dei due test possono non essere gli stessi. Il glucosio nel liquido interstiziale è il risultato della diffusione attraverso i capillari, e ci sarà una differenza di tempo.
