Process was easy to use and the questions were relevant to my business.

I completed an survey inside and the feedback was qualified at the time, but later they moved my qualified survey to the unqualified without my knowledge, refusing to pay me and deceiving me of my time.
Response from Emporia ResearchSep 2, 2026
Hi Morgan, we’re sorry to hear about this experience. In some cases, a participant may initially complete a study but the response is rejected by the research client during their quality review. Those decisions are made by the client, not as a way for Emporia to avoid paying participants. If you believe your response was rejected incorrectly, please reach out to [email protected] with the study details. We’ll be happy to review what happened and advocate on your behalf if the rejection doesn’t appear justified.

I've been a long-term responder to a small number of Emporia Research surveys but the website is now no longer usable. I have not had a 'successful' survey now for 3 months but have still wasted time filling out screening questions (5-10 minutes), almost always qualify for the actual survey, complete that (20-30 minutes) and then get greeted with a Survey Terminated message or "This Survey Is Closed" response *after* I have already completed the task. The last straw was the recent Visa/Mastercard survey that took a significant amount of time before a generic message was shown. Why display this at the end? Is this just a cheap way of getting a free response? If there is a specific job title/software program/skill that the surveyor is looking for then it should be the first question asked, not the last. What was once an enjoyable experience has now become a horrible waste of time thanks to the "safeguards" put in place. I won't be wasting my time any longer.

Hi Don, thank you for being part of Emporia for so long, and we’re sorry to hear how much your experience has changed over the past few months. We completely understand your frustration. Spending 20–30 minutes on a survey only to encounter a termination or closed-survey message at the end is not the experience we want for our participants. The surveys and qualification logic are programmed by our research clients, and unfortunately we don’t always have visibility into where they place their screening criteria or when their quotas close. We also agree with your point that, wherever possible, key eligibility questions should be asked early rather than after someone has invested significant time. If you’re willing, please reach out to [email protected] and mention the Visa/Mastercard study specifically. We’d like to review what happened and raise it with the research team. Emporia does not intentionally collect completed responses as a way to avoid paying participants, and we’d like the opportunity to investigate the experience you described.

The website was completely safe, yet I struggled to get to it due to this "fire wall" or whatever you call it!

Survey was easy to follow and the questions were relevant to the topic. I would recommend taking the survey.
