I love the ember mug! I have had it for a few years, and it’s perfect at the office since i like to sip my coffe slow. It stopped working with the app, and tried all the things ember support told me to do. Since nothing worked, they have sent me a new mug and charging coaster based on warranty. they have been so nice and helpful and i’m so proud to get to use this product further on. Would absolutely recommend!

I’ve left my original review below this update: A week later (October 3, 2026) I contacted the “contact” portion of Ember customer service and they promptly and apologetically replied and went above and beyond to keep a 6+ year customer happy. To me, customer service will always be the most important aspect of any business or company involved in providing a product or service, Ember customer service did an exceptional job in this regard. I’ve replaced my ember 2 - 14oz 2 times and the charging coaster over 4 times. Years ago ember was responsive in my emails, acknowledged the fault the product and the first was replaced for free, the second was replaced for $60 and now the battery is degraded and the sensor to detect liquid is faulty. I let them know I had the product over a year and provided the serial number and they still had me take photos and provide proof of the issue as if they were going to help only to then say the product is out of warranty but I could replace just the mug for $98 without the charging coaster. The ember 2 is $99 on Amazon with the charging coaster. When I pointed this out they never responded.

My father has bought 3 mugs and 6 charging plates (including 2 third party chargers). All charging plates have failed within 3 to 6 months with dropped/stuck pins. Lousy quality for an expensive item. Don't waste your time and money on these.

Placed a order for customized coffee mug as a gift. Realized after submitting order there was an error in lettering for customization, immediately(<15 minutes) attempted contacting company to rectify. No phone contact for this company and apparently they only utilize AI response. Numerous attempts to have the error corrected and every response replied item already ordered and processed...and item not eligible for return. I didn't want to return the item simply correct the error...since when does any company process a customization order within 15 minutes on a Sunday morning. Numerous attempts at effecting a resolution and completely denied. Avoid patronizing this company customer service is non existence. Obviously, Ember Technologies has no interest in satisfying the customer or resolving issues. They simply take your payment and absolve themselves of any responsibility.

It started with a July 4 discount that was not included on my checkout price. When I contacted Ember they assured me that a refund would be made. They say that the refund was processed on July 2. It is now July 22 and neither I or my bank has received it. They continue to tell me that it was processed on July 2 but won’t tell me to what account the process used. The number wasn’t large enough to worry about. The company and its products are large enough that customers should know with whom they are dealing. OTHER TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED MUGS ARE AVAILABLE. CHECK THEM OUT.

Purchased 2 cups from this company, one stopped getting hot, chargers are fine. They wouldn’t help me fix it or replace it. Made me trouble shoot for weeks and then said there was a technicial error. Then said they needed a receipt.I told them when we first started speaking the cup had been over a year old. Customer service is horrible. Buyer beware, if it breaks your out of your money and they will not assist.

Love the mug, disappointed by the experience. I purchased a Navy Blue Ember Mug 2 in July 2025. Within 6 months, the gold charging contacts on the coaster broke off completely — the mug became a very expensive coffee cup. The mug itself is great, but a $150 product shouldn't have a charging coaster fail in under a year of normal use. Ember did honor the warranty and sent a replacement coaster at no charge, which I appreciate. However, the replacement is not the same coaster that came with the mug. They offered only a "compact version" — smaller than the original — and explicitly stated it is not the standard coaster. So the warranty replacement is a downgrade from what I originally purchased. On top of that, Navy Blue wasn't available in the compact version anyway, so I'm also left with a mismatched coaster on a premium mug. The support process added to the frustration — multiple follow-ups over several weeks, including an AI-generated non-answer, before a real person resolved it. Bottom line: great product concept, but the coaster durability is a real weakness and the warranty replacement process leaves a lot to be desired. If your original coaster fails, don't expect a like-for-like replacement.

Overall the product IDEA is great, but this product falls flat. The charging coasters go faulty after about a year. Poorly designed. The pins to charge the mug get stuck & won't charge the mug anymore. The mugs themselves also stop working after a year or two & no longer charge. I'd stay away from this company & go find a similar product elsewhere.
