I've taken two of the ELVTR Comic Book Courses and it was worth both the time and investment.

The Video Game Writing course achieves in laying out the industry standards, both in creation and business. I found the assignments both compelling and straining, as it allows you to really delve into what you love about crafting an exceptional experience for yourself and others. The connections I got from this course have been very beneficial as forming a team is the key to creating a one of a kind experience. TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAMWORK!

Just finished the Editing in Book Publishing with Julia Wallace and it was fantastic. Talk about a crash course in publishing from someone who is literally in the thick of it. She was a wonderful teacher and I feel so much more prepared to head into the world of freelance editing.

The Game Writing Course with Adrian Ropp was awesome! I learned so much in such a short time frame, and the class was exceptional and fun. I definitely recommend this course if you're a writer who's looking into the gaming industry!

Participating in Editor in Book Publishing with instructor Julia Wallace exceeded my anticipations. Julia is an incredibly delightful human and book expert, guiding a class of 75 students in the foundations of book publishing. As a seasoned editor myself, I came away from this class with more editorial polish, insights, and encouragement. Including a lovely community of writers and editors who are sure to be friends and colleagues into the future.

Overall, this was a great class! In addition to Adam Beechen himself, several other writers in the comics industry made guest appearances, and so much expertise was shared! However, it could've been a bit more transparent. As many people have noted with other Elvtr courses, they are not up front about their pricing, which feels a little unethical. If I'm being charged a lot of money for something, I don't want that to be sprung on me during a phone call. I want to be able to look at the course page and see "Here is the standard price, but early bird pricing is this." Very few people have a few thousand dollars just lying around to spare, and it's a big financial decision. The course content is as advertised. It's comprehensive and super beginner-friendly! Whether you've been writing creatively for years, or just got curious about it, I think you'll find the class accessible. All of the assignments really build on one another and work to build a professional portfolio, and class materials are easily accessible outside of class. Once you get past registration, it's a great course!

I gained more confidence about the relationship between UX design and AI. I learned how to grow my mindset with AI and how to continue growing as a UX designer instead of feeling worried about the future of UX. Special thanks to my instructor, Rich Hultman, for making this process easier for me to understand. He helped me believe that deep human-centered design still needs a good UX designer. AI can make the process faster and help us get better results, but understanding people and their real needs still comes from strong UX thinking.
