Know your options
If you are in a desperate state, know your options before signing up for this program. They use aggressive sales tactics, it is very expensive, and they make it very difficult to leave if you decide it’s not a good fit. I had to argue over several phone calls to get a refund. I found it a bit ruthless that they openly acknowledge most people with addiction have commitment issues, and then leverage that insecurity to get people to sign up saying things like ‘we can’t hold your spot’ and ‘this program is only for people who are committed’ if you show hesitation. I’m not saying this program can’t help and hasn’t helped many people, however if you are unsure and feel pressure, know there are so many SAA and similar 12-step programs that offer help and don’t cost anything that you can fry first. I have gone back to working 12-step since leaving this and am doing better than ever.
Response from Elevated RecoveryFeb 8, 2022
Hello, It took us a while to respond because we wanted to make sure that all details of this experience were accurately documented. We are sorry to hear that you feel this way about your experience with the program. We admit that we did not follow up to ensure that you were placed in the right accountability group. Typically, clients are given access to a link to join the group. Even though you had access to the link and did not join the group, we aim to over deliver and take full responsibility for not following through and ensuring that you received it. We have tried to contact you several times to clear up certain disturbing aspects of your review, but you have not responded. Our company values involve admitting when we are wrong or have not over delivered. They also include aggressively defending ourselves against false claims. Men trust us with the most vulnerable aspects of their lives- we will not allow dishonest reviews to tarnish our reputation. Unfortunately, we have to publicly respond to protect ourselves, our clients and dispute several libelous statements you’ve made in your version of events. You cast yourself as some sort of victim who was taken advantage of in your “desperate” state by a “ruthless” company which uses “aggressive sales tactics” to a “very expensive” program. Apparently, we “make it very difficult to leave” and you had to “argue over several phone calls” to get a refund. These are false accusations which we will defend below. Your review is further questionable based on the fact that your experience with us was 7 months ago and you are only now choosing to write a review. The statements below are corroborated by emails, text messages and other communications between you and our team member. 1) You imply that our company takes advantage of the “desperate state” of men. This is categorically untrue. You were not pressured into making a decision. In fact a proposal was emailed to you and you were given 24 hours to make a decision because our team member did not want you to make an emotional decision. ( Documented evidence of this communication is available) 2) You joined our program in June 2021- after it had been closed due to being at capacity for 3 months. The program IS for men who are committed and we are often fully booked. This is clearly stated on our website, social media, emails, and every single form of communication we use. To feign ignorance and imply that these true statements somehow pressured into your decision is disingenuous. In fact the very custom proposal you were sent made it absolutely clear that you should not join if you were uncertain ( Documented evidence of this communication is available) 3) “I had to argue over several phone calls to get a refund.” This is false. You had a back and forth with the rep to find the right time to schedule a call. This is certainly not “arguing over several calls” You requested a refund after the 30 day refund period. We still granted you a refund and informed you that it would take about 10 days for the bank to process due to it being a credit card transaction. Tue, Jun 8, 2021- You enrolled in the program. Thu, Jul 8, 2021- exactly 30 Days later – you requested a refund. Friday Jul 9, 2021, at 2:57 PM, our team member who signed you up responded ( direct quote) Hey [name redacted]! No worries at all. Got your message, I'd love to get on a quick call with you on Monday so I can get some feedback from you and do a better job for people like you in the future. So at least if that’s the last time we talk, we can part as friends, are you up for that? On Jul 13, 2021, at 9:02 AM You responded affirmatively to setting up a call. On July 16th : You were unable to access the calender link sent by the team member. Fri, Jul 20th, 2021: You took off the restriction on your phone and booked a call because you phone restrictions would not allow you to access the calendar This was the only call you ever had with our team member. (Documented evidence of one call is available) Additionally, during the refund period, you were allowed to remain in the program as a courtesy. Since this review comes 7 months after your experience, we will assume that your recollection of the details are inaccurate, but for some reason your emotions surround it remain. Our only conclusion is that you came back to our profile for some reason, saw all our positive reviews and got upset/triggered because you did not have the same experience since you chose to leave after 30 days without ever actually being in the group. False review or not, we are happy to hear that you have found success in your continued recovery via a 12 -Step group That’s all that truly matters in the end.
