I'm very unhappy with this bike-It's been in my local bike repair shop almost since it arrived. I charged the bike and took it for a test drive -almost immediately the bike make a binding noise usder my feet, This noise got worse the longer I rode the bike-I stopped riding it and after several day I spoke with the technical support department of Electric Byke -they advised me that the chain may need lubed-did this and no joy. Finally, I was advised by a mechanical friend to put some air n the tires-this helped some-the noise persisted and finally in frustration I took the bike to my local bike repair shop. Long and short of it is the rear chain was set too tight and this did serious damage to the free wheel (free hub maybe local jargon). End result is this issue is all related to very poor setup by the distributor My bike shop is replacing the whole hub because they are unable to find replacement parts. Additionally, I'm a very old person and I was reluctant to buy and electric two wheel bike as I found them difficult to mount because of the high step to actually step through -then I saw this tricycle. I said right away that's the bike for me. I've found , however, in the short time that I've been able to ride the bike that it's not as stable as I had hoped-seems like the rear tires can come off the ground quite easily- on one side or the other. I realize this is an issue that has to be safeguarded with respect to speed and terrain-this is just a word of caution to new users-it's not the trike that you started on when you were 3 or 4.

As mentioned in your earlier review on this same issue, we have advised EWheels of their misdiagnosis of the problem. Packaging was poorly established for the 3000 mile transfer from your location in Florida to Central Oregon. The battery was sliding around in the box with only paper on top. I’m hoping none of the cells have been damaged from bouncing around. I would recommend using foam spray bags, for a safe fit with no sliding and better protection.

The “Universal charger” that was sent only charged my defiant once and i had my bike die on me and whenever i plug it in it reads as fully charged

Hi Antwann - Sorry to hear that you are having issues with charging your battery. Most often, the issue is not with the charger (which is supplied by JupiterBike and is definitely compatible with your Defiant) but with the battery. We have phoned you and left a message to give us a call so that we can get to the bottom of your issue. (See the note below regarding "re-awakening" a sleepy Lithium Ion battery) Customer Support Team Lithium Ion cells can "fall asleep" which can block your battery from charging. You can wake the cells up by following these steps: 1) Place the battery in your freezer for 24 hours. It's okay if you're a bit over. 2) Let the battery thaw 6-8 hours. Please try to stay in this range, the timing on this step is important. 3) Charge the battery as you normally would until the light on the charger turns green. Please note that this can take up to 24 hours. Please unplug if the charger is still red after 24 hours. 4) You're good to go! You can also contact Jupiter Bike Tech Support at 813-609-2453 opt. 4 if you have questions or problems with this procedure.

The bike came with damage headlights. Rack assembly is hard to fit to frame. Center shaft has a strip bolt and so now i will have to try to fix the bike first. Dont buy from this company with poor quality made bikes.

No instructions and incomplete hardware sent with kit. You Tube video made installation look easy. It wasn't. Very dissapointed after waiting six months for delivery. Will need to spend additional money for professional install.
