This company thrives on ruining people's credit scores. They buy up under-used accounts, remove automated payments, and let the fees and interest pile up. They finally called after 4 missed months, which ruined my 20+ years of no late payments. I paid the account in full and told them to close it. Next month i get another late fee for $3.00. I call and pay it. Next month AGAIN they hit me with another late fee from $0.30 of unpaid interest? This company is pure and simple scamming people. Avoid at all cost.

Elan Financial Services is a real hassle to use. They offer a good cash back card which gives 5% cash back on 2 categories of spending which can be changed every 3 months. However, they are very stingy with their credit limits. With a credit rating of over 800, our limit was set at $500 per month. When we asked to have it raised, we had to jump through hoops, unfreezing credit agency accounts several times. And we never heard back from them as to whether they honored the request or denied it. Of course, we could see it was denied by viewing our account info online, but they gave no reason for the denial. I do not recommend dealing with this credit company. There are other cash back cards which are much better.

These people are impossible to work with. They keep denying access to my account and customer service is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! DO NOT, SUBJECT YOURSELF TO THEI ABUSE!

warning. on the paper statement and on line it tells you the date your payment is due. on neither medium do they tell you a cut off time. it is 7pm central time. if you pay your card after 7pm (and pay full amount) you get charged a late fee and interest. they will automatically reverse the late fee but will not reverse the interest. change cards…they suck.

This is a horrible company to work with. My bank sold my credit card to them. I never got the new card despite multiple requests. Online payments would not go through and customer service is untrained and disinterested. When I requested a supervisor, the rep simply said "I am ending this call" and hung up.

Horrible ongoing experience. Our credit card was fraudulently charged four times in a foreign country. No fraud alert from Elan, we are still trying to get a credit after almost 6 months. They are not timely in responding, base their case decision on incorrect information and give contradictory information on the status of the case. We are now writing to government agencies for help. What a hassle. Don’t use Fidelity Visa Elan Financial!

I had a legal name change and was trying to inform it and send the documents. They suddenly deactivated my card without any notification or reason. When I called customer service I was informed I need to verify my identity. The department was unable to answer my call for 35 minutes. The whole call was 55 minutes to get an answer to how to process the name change and to get it activated. Very disappointing experience.

The 2 stars is because the 2 support individuals (Al and Susan) were uniformly kind, personable, and did their best to be helpful. So kudos to these individuals. The problem I called in on was getting an online account set up. It requires a security code (not unusual) which in turn requires a cell number associated with a U.S. Carrier. My service is an international service aggregator that only uses Data so does not match and is not supported. Evidently there is SOME capability to send codes through email, which may pop up on their website. In my case it did not. Requesting that their technical staff trigger this manually was met with a flat "No." with no other recourse. So ultimately I'm unable to manage my finances and will likely cancel the card or allow it to simply go dormant. Very bad policy and consistent with their low CSAT here on Trustpilot.
