Battery died after six months they won't replace crap

Terrible response on support line. Wait times are very long to speak to someone. Once a case file is opened, they do not update your case file and close it without any solution.

The company will not honor warranty and has told me their batteries may last only up to one year. I bought a brand new mower and the battery went out within a couple years. These are not cheap. They sent me a replacement that started going bad after 15 months. Random red lights flashing and heating up on its own. After calling for help again (and letting them know this is a fire hazard), they told me they will not help and that the replacement battery isn’t covered under new warranty. Further, they said all their batteries are known to randomly fail within the first year and they don’t know why.

Could not understand their warranty rules--I have what seems to be a new battery with a corresponding manual that states it has a 3 year warranty--It came with the purchase of the reconditioned law mower that stopped working along with the battery which has only one year warranty. It broke down within less than two years of service. I was willing to buy a new lawn mower but expected to get a replacement for the battery as stated in the warranty--they refused-- Was the battery re-conditioned too? If so why send me the manual that states that the battery has 3 year warranty? Very disappointing experience--As for their phone customer service--Ouch!!

I would recommend that you do not purchase any ego products. They have a 5 year warrantee that means nothing. They hire technical support people that are just answering a phone, they have no clue when you have an issue. Not helpfull at all. They barely speak english. I will not get into my issues except to tell you I have a 21inch ego self propelled mower and a 18" chain saw.

Ego Self Propelled lawnmower, the speed control stopped working. Called Ego service and they were helpful so I took my mower to the only "ONE" store in Calgary, the staff were good to me but this is where it all falls apart. After 6 weeks of waiting Ego still has not sent the right part for the mower, tried getting ahold of Ego but to no avail. They are the worst company for customer service, after buying their overpriced tools they turn off the phones. I will never recommend nor buy another tool from Ego.

I have had the same experience with EGO customer support. 7 calls, never a call back. I just picked up an EGO string trimmer with an edger attachment. I have never use then and plan to return them asap. I have an EGO mower and so far, a couple of uses, it seems OK. I bought EGO because of good recommendation from Consumer Reports which is supposed to be free from corruption. After my EGO experience I tend to wonder.

Terrible customer service. The lady sighed 3 times while on the phone with me like she didn’t want to assist. And in the end I was told to register the mower myself online. I have the 21” self propelled mower and the propel motor went out. Got nowhere on the phone with customer service, simply refused to help me register the product and complete a warranty claim. Don’t waist your money on Ego products. Buy anything else.
