EGOReviews of egopowerplus.com

I really like the EGO line except for the price of there batteries. Now I like having a cordless lawn mower, but I can buy a good quality gas mower for for less than there batteries and a gas mower runs forever if you take care of it. When my battery dies, I will park the mower and go with gas. Sorry EGO, you started it.

I purchased a lawn mower and a backpack leaf blower. The battery with the leaf blower is completely defective and won't charge at all - no lights even come on. I contacted EGO on 7/10/22 to request a replacement. The battery was out of stock. It supposedly came back into stock on 7/18/22 and my replacement order was placed. It is now 7/29/22 and all I am told is to wait a little longer. No estimated ship date, no general timeframe for the order to be filled. Just told to wait. No escalation of the issue after 18+ days. An apology won't run my leaf blower! It can't possibly take this long to ship out if the battery was back in stock 11 days ago. HELP!

I have been an EGO advocate since I bought my first product. My word of mouth has resulted in thousands of dollars of EGO products purchased by myself and acquaintances. My loyalty has been tested and EGO is failing when it comes to warrantying their products. EGO warranty is horrible. I originally spoke with EGO tech on phone back May 2022. She walked me through diagnosis. The diagnosis confirmed 2 EGO batteries are defective. The batteries only lasted about 8 minutes using the blower she asked me to use on turbo. I initially called the batteries in as I was only getting 8-10 minutes use on a trimmer. We also troubleshot the EGO self-winding trimmer. After putting in new line the trimmer just spins without winding in line. I took the trimmer into the dealer they provided. I was charged $112.00 as they found nothing wrong. The trimmer still does the same spinning without winding about 10 % of the time. I have sent over a dozen emails inquiring about next steps for the battery and reimbursement for the warranty work that partially solved the issue. I have yet to receive one response from EGO as they appear to wash their hands and do not provide warranty on their products and leave consumers stranded. During this timeframe I ordered a 42" rider with bagger for over $5500.00, the EGO fan, almost $300.00 and was going to order the self-propelled snowblower. I let EGO know I was returning and not ordering the other items, unless they replay. I have yet to get a reply from EGO.

Like many people I have found the EGO powerplus tools impressive at first, but the batteries are failing so frequently that I am in almost weekly contact with the EGO UK support (actually outsourced to a company called Henton & Chattell Ltd). Because I am still in the 2 year professional warranty period they have been excellent at sending out replacements, but even a brand new battery I received didn't charge on the rapid charger until I had tried 5 times. I have asked several times whether EGO are investigating the problem, but never receive any answers. I also emailed EGO direct and never got a reply. What happens when my warranty runs out?! Am I facing a huge cost to continuously replace/repair expensive batteries just so I can keep using my kit and keep my gardening business going? EGO power beyond belief is actually more like unreliable beyond belief. Do I start looking at a more reliable brand like Stihl or Husqvana?

I own several EGO products and have generally been satisfied. I just got the 2-stage snowblower, and am very disappointed. The discharge chute lines freeze if the temperature is below freezing making it impossible to change the chute directions! I have called their support multiple times and was told to use a hair dryer to unfreeze the line! Imagine that -- I need to have a hairdryer handy to unfreeze the discharge chute before being able to use the snowblower if it is below freezing! Incredibly bad design. I'm done with EGO.

It’s ok is the best I can say. Owned it for 3 summers and need my third battery. At least the second one was covered by warranty otherwise will set you back more $500 Canadian. Still Deciding whether to buy another battery or just go back to an affordable gas mower. Trying to be a good green citizen but not sure the technology is there yet.

I really tried to like this mower. I liked the environmentally friendly charging battery and not having to fill the mower with petrol. 15 months on , I have needed one new battery and two new chargers, a pain as the mower dealer is 20 miles away but no problem with replacing . Basically the battery is not as strong as a petrol engine- my lawn was left with a fair amount of clippings and the grass box overflows before it is full. They claim the battery has a good time of running but it’s like when you buy a car - It does not do the same amount of miles per gallon as in the brochure. The mower battery does not last as long if the grass is wet or long so don’t expect it to. I eventually cut my losses and bought a Mountfield with a Honda engine. The grass has not looked as good as after the first cut since I bought the Ego, I am happy and the grass looks happy. An expensive but well meaning mistake.

The lawn mower is great. The repair time is horrendous!! Unfortunately, I will not buy this mower again because of the repair times. That's too bad because it is a great mower. January 2022: I want to add that the battery longevity is horrible. Then, if they replace the battery the warranty on the new battery does not start over again, it's still based on the day you purchased the actual mower. What a scam!
