This company is not clear in its subscription. I singned up to a trial for £15 and then noticed £79 leaving my account. No email to notify me that this has gone up or will be taken. It is not good enough to respond to everyone making the same co.plaint that the detail is somewhere in the small print.reimburse people and show that you truly believe in excellent customer service. Effecto fall way below the standard I would expect.

This so called company have stole money from my bank its disgusting and morally wrong. Can't cancel i don't even have the app. Il be phoning my bank tomorrow please beware everyone!

I purchased a 3 month plan. I did not sign up for a trial with an obvious subscription after said trial ends. I bought a 3 month plan, PERIOD. At the time of sign up there was no indication of a recurring subscription. 3 months later I'm charged for twice the amount. I never used the app past the first day. Ok that's on me, but changing their terms and then blaming customers is messed up. I never agreed to a subscription I agreed to 3 months and that's it. It seems like there are a lot of other people who have experienced a similar event and when the Effecto team responds it's the same generic response that they are working on making their terms more clear. So they've already admitted that their terms aren't clear. Also, in the app there is nowhere to see that you have an active subscription that needs to be canceled. They say that you can cancel through the help center, but how do you know you need help if you don't actually know that you have a subscription because it doesn't tell you that you have an active subscription? So I put a help ticket in and they told me they canceled my subscription but they cannot refund me. I keep explaining this situation and they keep giving me the same generic response. Oh and coincidentally it's the same Nora who "helps" everyone else. I finally get her to forward my messages on to someone else and they say the same thing. It wasn't until after I told them that I was going to report them for fraud that they sent me another email saying that my request was being considered. One last thing, they said they canceled my subscription, yet when I went to PayPal it was still active so they lied and we're still trying to steal my money.

I made a one off payment of £15 for 2 weeks on the app.They then charged be £79 for a monthly subscription which I never signed up for! Customer support said when I pay at checkout that automatically sets up the monthly subscription!! I asked for proof of where I agreed to a monthly subscription and they said there isn't one!! They will not refund my £79!!! I don't like their underhand way of extracting money out of people. It doesn't matter if their app content is good or bad, their unethical dealing with people is what people need to be aware of.

I signed up for this service in March and have never logged in or accessed any part of the product, as I’ve been in the middle of a house move. Despite this, I discovered another direct debit of around £35 had been taken today, just as it was last month. I contacted the company within 20 minutes of the payment leaving my account to request cancellation and a refund, yet they refused — even though the service has not been used at all during the three months I’ve been subscribed. Under UK consumer law, specifically the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, customers are entitled to a refund for digital services that have not been accessed, used, or downloaded, regardless of internal policy. Refusing a refund in these circumstances is not only unreasonable but potentially non‑compliant with statutory consumer protections. The behaviour feels deliberately opaque and unfair, and it raises serious concerns about how they are treating customers who have not received any service in return for their payments.

Nordiclets sold me a product based on a 1 month course. You think you get a 4 week program, but oops, you have signed a subscription, without accepting it or that it is stated in the offer. I have written to Nordiclets that I have not signed a subscription and want my €92.48 back that Effecto have debited from my account. It is funny that you order from Nordiclets, the money has been transferred by PayPal to the company Medical, but I get a negative response about a refund from Effecto Avoid ordering anything from all 3 companies!!! You think you have bought a time-limited product and they do not make you aware enough that this is not the case. When you subsequently argue for a refund, this is flatly rejected.

Signed up for what I thought was a green diet plan as a one off. After rejecting masses of offers and thinking that I had dismissed everything, I got charged £79 for a subscription that I knew nothing about and there's no way out. There was no warning that the subscription was about to be charged. It's very unfortunate that companies conduct themselves in this manner and clearly make a lot of money from doing it. Avoid, avoid, avoid is all I can say and to the company themselves who will point you to their unclear terms and conditions, shame on you!
