Scamming ratbags! Just took a ‘subscription’ out of my account via PayPal - cannot find how to cancel, never had or used their app and would have no reason to have it in the first place now that I’ve researched what it’s for… update: Effecto also known as medical Score also known as no diet - layers of deception… the no diet app claims to be a Mediterranean Diet which is total rubbish which having looked and discarded it has just cost almost £80… I’ve received an email claiming to have cancelled it now they’ve had their pound of flesh - I don’t hold my breath…. & SCREEN SHOT any email from them! There is zero chance of a refund folks so chalk it up to experience and move on.

I have know idea what line of business Effecto. App are in! My bank account was frozen due to suspicious transactions because of this business. I lodged a complaint with PayPal which they reviewed & hv closed my dispute saying l need to get in contact with this business directly. I have done this & hv not had any communication back. I have had to hv a new bank account and a new card issued due to this business , that l have never entered into any transaction or agreement with! I don’t even know how they got payments from my card! An absolutely appalling and fraudulent transactional business. - If this is an (app) business then why haven’t l got this on my phone?!!!! UPDATE: Automated reply says it all!!!!!!

Ganz übel. Wollte die App probieren u d nach der ersten Periode kündigen. Dies tat ich wie angewiesen ü er die Help. Effecto Mail Adresse. Dann bekam ich die Antwort ich könne nicht kündigen da die E Mail ( auf die ich nachweislich die Bestätigungsmail des Abonnenments bekomme habe) sei nicht bekannt. So bucht effecto fröhlich weiter ab. Richtig übel!

I purchased a one month payment and specifically not a subscription but they are now charging a monthly subscription service which i did not even use, I have reached out to them to cancel and will update as soon as I have positive results. I am very disappointed and will be taking this up with the relevant institutions as appropriate.

I never had access to thier service. Then they kept charging me and refused a refund. Bad business practices. Definitely a scam. Update: I did just that and you refused to acknowledge or help. Buyer beware!

Just like the rest of the genuine reviews on this page (hint: the one-star reviews, not the AI generated “verified” slop), I had a horrendous experience with the Effecto app. I requested a refund via email due to their misleading terms and lack of transparency about their subscription model, they refused. I requested more information about my alleged subscription, they never responded. I lodged a dispute through PayPal which was declined on the basis that I had selected the “wrong” reason for my dispute. Finally, with PayPal’s encouragement, I escalated to my bank to lodge a chargeback. They agreed with the evidence I had of Effecto’s misleading terms and how difficult they make it to cancel, and started the chargeback process on my behalf. Effecto, determined to waste even more of my time, disputed the chargeback - so it went to Visa for arbitration and was ruled in my favour based on the clear evidence of deliberately predatory and misleading behaviour. This company wasted weeks of my time with what could have been a simple apology and refund, but their business model obviously relies on people (WITH ADHD!!) finding it too hard to navigate the process and giving up. Unfortunately for them I am stubborn and prone to hyperfixation (as most of us are). If you’re reading this and in the same position I was, do not give up. Do not take no for an answer, that’s what they’re counting on. Escalate to your bank or credit card provider - they will have your back. Do not allow them to get away with stealing your hard earned money.

I signed up at 34.99. It immediately offered a $99 lifetime access. I thought that it was just upgrading me to $99. It was in addition to the $34.99. I have asked for a refund as I do not want this app and I feel that this was misleading/false advertsing. I have repeatedly asked for a refund and I never saw this when signing up that "We follow a no refund policy, unless the product is proven to be faulty. In such cases, User must contact our customer support within 14 days upon purchase and must provide detailed information proving Company’s product fault (with visual proof attached)." This is a total scam. Even the worst apps will ultimately let you cancel. Another app scam. I am contesting all charges on the basis of fraud and misleading marketing with PayPal. This is ridiculous. In response to your message below - NOTE THAT I LITERALLY COPIED THE ABOVE FROM EMAIL RESPONSES FROM OUR SUPPORT BELOW. I WANT ALL OF MY MONEY BACK AND NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR APP! Look it up - all over people are complaining this is a scam. Even the worst apps will refund your $ if you are not happy. Your app is not what I thought it was, marketing is deceptive and I still do not have my $126 back!
