Not necessarily ADHD centred
This app would be brilliant as a daily tracker, however even with the notifications as someone with ADHD this gets overwhelming and the app isn't as engaging enough to stick to using it. Unfortunately I removed the app and forgot it existed until I was billed for an annual subscription which is around £40. This is my own doing as in the policy it was pointed out to me that deleting the app etc does not cancel a subscription and a refund can not be issued. There are other comments about this online being problematic and potentially predatory for ADHD individuals. I would however suggest to Effecto that the app needs to develop further to help those who are neuro divergent. Potentially more engaging content, not a tick list but some form of interactive activity. I think if it was more visually interactive it would definitely live up to the £40 per year. I'd also suggest altering the inability to unsubscribe via the app if you have subscribed via online. Many individuals who have ADHD will not remember or find it overwhelming to have to email the team to cancel. This is why I deleted the app, I thought that would do it as there wasn't an option for me to unsubscribe. A comment trait in ADHD is forgetting important tasks etc and I think something to aid reminding users their renewal coming up would be beneficial to the app/Effecto customers, I believe the transparency would keep customers. I hope this helps if someone reads it ☺️ Overall the app works and is a great tracker, unfortunately it just didn't work for me. I get engaged at the beginning and lose interest over time. I think more development is needed but it is a good starting point.

Dear Imogen, Thank you for your thoughtful feedback on the Effecto app. We appreciate your insights, especially regarding the challenges faced by individuals with ADHD and the need for more engaging content. Your suggestion about incorporating interactive activities and enhancing the visual aspect of the app is valuable, and we’ll be sure to pass this along to our development team as we continue to improve the app. Regarding your experience with the subscription, we apologize for any confusion and understand how overwhelming this can be. While it’s outlined in the policy, we are reviewing ways to make the cancellation process smoother, particularly for neurodivergent users. Your idea of adding reminders for renewals is an excellent point, and it’s something we will consider for future updates to improve transparency and user experience. If you need any further assistance or have additional feedback, please feel free to reach out to us. Kindly include your account email and, if possible, your order number in your message when contacting [email protected] for further resolution. Sincerely, Effecto team
